The posting

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to support our Prime NASA program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.   Summary/General Description of Job: Maintains fire protection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacture’s specifications and the National Fire Protection Association standards. Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Tests, maintains and/or repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems on site Visually Inspects fire alarm equipment for defective components and replaces defective components as needed. Tests initiating devices, signal circuits, detector and system transmitters making repairs as needed. Ability to operate Government or company owned vehicles. Assists and supports other departments, staff and /or trade groups as needed or directed. Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures. Performs other related work as required or assigned.

 Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

High school graduate or equivalent GED. Four years (4) years’ experience with fire alarm systems. Experience maintaining Siemens XLS and MXL Systems. Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license. U.S. Citizenship. Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
