Position Overview
We are seeking a Gateway Antenna Engineer to monitor the connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations, providing service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution. This role troubleshoots anomalies and network failures, performs preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure, and provides first-line, customer-facing technical support. This person collaborates closely with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes, and operates fault management systems to track network health and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor connectivity and operational status of global gateway and telemetry stations.
- Troubleshoot anomalies and network failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and escalate as required.
- Maintain detailed incident documentation, manage trouble tickets, and generate reports.
- Ensure service assurance through real-time monitoring and incident resolution.
- Provide first-line, customer-facing technical support (phone, email, chat).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on satellite teleport systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for escalations, upgrades, and system changes.
- Operate and maintain fault management systems to track network health and performance.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Satellite or Cellular Communications.
- Hands-on experience with RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, antenna drive systems, and baseband equipment.
- Solid knowledge of IP networks, fiber optics, modems, multiplexers, and broadband systems.
- Proficiency in remote monitoring tools, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience with monitoring and fault management tools.

Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment.
Technology Stack:
- RF systems, high-power amplifiers, converters, and antenna drive systems.
- Baseband equipment, modems, and multiplexers.
- IP networks and fiber optic broadband systems.
- Remote monitoring, system diagnostics, and remote desktop platforms.
- Fault management systems for tracking network health and performance.
Physical Requirements
- Must be available for on-site work at the Lanham/DC office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces or elevated locations to access antenna and RF equipment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, on-call, or outside standard business hours to support continuous gateway and telemetry station monitoring.
