About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Device Service & Operations Intern to join our team supporting medical laser equipment used by healthcare professionals. This is a hands-on opportunity for a student interested in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, medical devices, or technical operations.

The intern will work alongside our service team performing preliminary quality-control checks on laser systems, while also assisting with day-to-day office, shipping, and fulfillment operations.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and practical business operations.

Schedule

This is a part-time position during the academic year, approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, beginning immediately and continuing through the Spring 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

Quality Control & Technical Support

  • Perform preliminary quality-control checks on medical laser equipment.
  • Assist with basic functional testing and inspection of equipment prior to shipment or service.
  • Follow established testing procedures, checklists, and safety protocols.
  • Document test results and identify issues requiring additional evaluation by senior technical staff.
  • Assist with basic equipment preparation, cleaning, labeling, and organization.
  • Learn the fundamentals of medical laser systems and their components.

Shipping & Fulfillment

  • Prepare equipment, parts, and accessories for shipment.
  • Package and label shipments accurately and safely.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing documentation.
  • Assist with inventory organization and tracking.
  • Prepare customer orders and service parts for fulfillment.
  • Maintain an organized parts and equipment area.

Office & Administrative Support

  • Assist with data entry and maintaining service and inventory records.
  • Organize service documentation, work orders, and equipment records.
  • Assist with general office tasks and other operational projects as needed.
  • Support the service team with day-to-day administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
  • Comfortable working with tools, equipment, and technical documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn and take on both technical and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Previous laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, medical-device, or technical experience.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical or mechanical concepts.
  • Experience using hand tools or test equipment.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience working with medical laser technology and medical devices.
  • Exposure to quality-control and equipment testing processes.
  • Experience with medical-device service operations and logistics.
  • Practical experience with inventory, fulfillment, and technical documentation.
  • Opportunity to work directly with experienced biomedical and service professionals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
