The NF1 PNand HPP Patient Education Managers (PEMs) are an empathetic and trusted educational resource for NF1/HPP patients and families. They are responsible for engaging with the local NF1 and HPP patient community via 1:1 meetings; conducting unbranded and branded patient education at scale through programs; and (in close collaboration with Alexion’s Patient Advocacy team) partnering with local and regional NF1 and HPP advocacy groups to further raise awareness of NF1 and HPP burden, disease progression, and treatment.

In addition to these responsibilities, PEMs also refer patients and caregivers to Case Managers for case management support when starting on Alexion therapy and connect the NF1 and HPP community, as appropriate, to local advocacy networks and approved resources to best support patients and their families through the treatment journey.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing, in close partnership with Alexion Patient Advocacy and NF1PN and HPP brand marketing, a regional patient engagement plan that strategically supports commercial priorities
  • Coordinating frequently with key cross functional partners to execute local patient outreach compliantly and effectively (e.g.: Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Patient Advocacy, Patient Services, etc.)
  • Educating patients, caregivers and families via 1:1 meetings, including face-to-face interactions, about NF1 and HPP disease state, NF1 PN and HPP treatment, and Alexion’s patient support programs
  • When possible, conducting impactful in-person or virtual educational events on behalf of Alexion to deliver disease and product information at scale
  • Working in partnership with RAMS on educating offices on the PEM role and OneSource via inservices both live and virtually
  • Building a robust rare disease network of NF1 PN and HPP advocates via active participation in local advocacy events to identify educational needs, raise disease awareness, and promote patient empowerment
  • Delivering on data driven performance objectives and effectively tracking and communicating year-to-date progress to cross functional partners and Alexion leadership

You will need to have:

  • Minimum of 4 years business experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience engaging with patients and caregivers with rare/chronic conditions
  • Empathy for others with proven ability to listen well, connect meaningfully, and present complex information in a clear and engaging manner during 1:1 meetings
  • High initiative, solid work ethic, and consistent accountability
  • Ability to adapt quickly and commitment to react positively to frequent change in a high-energy, fast paced environment
  • Excellent presentation skills to diverse stakeholders in varied settings that will include groups of 150+ people
  • Strong organizational capabilities that will facilitate strategic and efficient territory management over a large geography
  • Ability to travel 60-80% of time, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to attend in-person impromptu trainings, educational programs, and business meetings as necessary. Potential territory to cover includes the following states: AZ, UT, OR, WA, ID, WY, MT, ND and SD.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • BA/BS degree required, advanced degree a plus

We would prefer for you to have:

  • At least three years field-based experience in account management, patient education, or sales
  • Experience assisting patients/caregivers
  • Background in advocacy, nursing, rare disease support, or social work
  • Understanding of community engagement groups and non-profit organizations
  • Understanding of managed care and self-administered products
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory components of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries; rare disease specific knowledge of these elements is a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
