Responsibilities

As a School Licensed Practical Nurse, you will:

  • Provide skilled nursing care to students under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, physician, or advanced practice provider.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Monitor and document student health status and medication responses.
  • Perform nursing procedures including: Wound care and sterile dressing changes Catheterization Tube feedings Oxygen therapy Diabetic care Range of motion therapy Pre- and post-procedure care
  • Assist students with activities that promote: Daily living skills Social development Recreational participation Reality orientation when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate documentation and health records.
  • Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents, and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Deliver compassionate, culturally competent, and age-appropriate care.
  • Follow all ATC Healthcare policies, procedures, and school district guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
  • Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Florida
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience within the past three years.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Ability to pass required background and drug screening.
  • Employment physical may be required based on assignment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Pediatric, school nursing, or behavioral health experience is a plus.

Work Environment

  • School-based assignments throughout Duval County and surrounding areas.
  • Monday–Friday schedules available.
