As a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Global Management, Athene benefits from the scale, investment expertise, and origination capabilities of one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers.

The Director, PGA Product Management will provide strategic and actuarial leadership for Athene’s growing Pension Risk Transfer (“PRT”) business, with accountability for leading pricing, modeling, and assumption setting for assigned transactions. Partnering closely with the Actuarial, Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Legal/Business teams, they will help ensure that prospective transactions are priced to achieve financially sound, competitive outcomes aligned with Athene’s broader business and risk objectives, while also overseeing the ongoing management of the inforce business.

This is a visible actuarial pricing role with the opportunity to influence transaction strategy, strengthen pricing capabilities, and help shape the continued growth and evolution of Athene’s PRT platform.

Accountabilities:

  • For assigned PRT transactions, act as a Deal Lead, taking responsibility for PRT pricing strategy and execution, ensuring methodologies and assumptions support competitive positioning, appropriate risk-adjusted returns, and business objectives.
  • Direct the development and enhancement of deferred and inpay actuarial models supporting cash flow production, policyholder behavior, Statutory and GAAP reserves, asset liability management, financial projections, and transaction economics.
  • Provide senior management with clear pricing recommendations, analysis of inforce experience and setting assumptions, sensitivities, and emerging risks to support informed business and transaction decisions.
  • Strengthen pricing governance, model validation, controls, and compliance with Model Risk Policies while identifying opportunities to improve scalability, automation, analytics, and the responsible use of AI.
  • Support inforce management of existing PRT business including but not limited to deferred liability model onboarding, buy-in to buy-out conversion, and annual true-ups.
  • Support an inclusive, high-performance, and risk-aware environment that empowers others, encourages innovation and continuous improvement, and reflects Athene’s BEAM values.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline required; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred.
  • 7+ years of pension risk transfer, pension consulting, actuarial pricing or modeling, asset-liability management experience or relevant professional experience, preferred.
  • 4+ years of formal or informal leadership experience, including leading complex transactions, projects, technical initiatives, or cross-functional work, preferred.

  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics, automation and emerging technologies to improve business performance, operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Proven success improving actuarial models, pricing frameworks, controls, or processes, with a bias for action, adaptability, creativity, and willingness to challenge established approaches and learn quickly.
  • Strong technology and AI fluency, including the judgment to identify where advanced analytics, automation, or AI can enhance actuarial analysis, scenario testing, model review, and decision support while maintaining appropriate governance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
