  • Coordinate production schedules across multiple manufacturing operations, including melting, casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, finishing, and other metal processing operations, as applicable.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate equipment downtime, material shortages, changing customer priorities, and operational constraints.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing teams to optimize equipment utilization, production throughput, and overall plant efficiency.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve material flow and scheduling performance.

Material Planning and Inventory Management

  • Plan and coordinate raw material requirements to support manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Evaluate material availability, replenishment requirements, and lead times to prevent production interruptions.
  • Work with Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of critical materials and supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory, improve inventory accuracy, and minimize carrying costs.
  • Monitor material usage, production yields, and scrap generation to support efficient resource utilization.

Supply Chain Coordination

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure alignment between production requirements and customer delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate material movement between internal manufacturing departments, facilities, and external processing suppliers.
  • Communicate production status, material shortages, and potential delivery delays to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support the resolution of supply chain disruptions and develop alternative plans to maintain production continuity.
  • Assist with planning activities involving outside processors, subcontractors, and interplant material transfers.

Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze production schedules, inventory data, material requirements, and manufacturing performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to manage production orders, inventory transactions, and material requirements.
  • Develop and maintain reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory levels, production throughput, and material availability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory investment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and supply chain performance.
  • Support process improvements through data analysis, root cause identification, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, materials management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, metals production, steel manufacturing, specialty alloys, or similar process-driven manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or comparable ERP systems.
  • Master's degree in supply chain or related field

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
