The posting

Working at Atlassian

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.

Your Future Org

Atlassian’s Grad++ program combines hands-on technical training, professional growth opportunities, dedicated mentorship, and strong social connections. This holistic approach empowers students to hit the ground running and sets them up for a successful and impactful career at Atlassian!

This is a hybrid role located in Seattle, WA. You must be willing and able to work out of this location to qualify.

This position is not eligible for F1 and J1 students. It is not available for any work sponsorship.

Your Future Team

Atlassian’s Security team helps protect our products, customers, and the systems and data Atlassians use every day. We combine software engineering, security research, and investigation to identify risks and build practical ways to address them.

You’ll develop and maintain security capabilities, investigate technical problems, and contribute to ongoing team operations. Working alongside experienced security engineers, you’ll receive guidance and feedback while building your technical judgment and taking on increasing responsibility.

Develop, test, and maintain tools and automation that help teams find security weaknesses, investigate findings, and prioritize risks, with guidance and increasing independence.

  • Conduct security research and analyze results to understand potential weaknesses, distinguish actionable findings from false positives, and communicate their impact.
  • Use AI-assisted coding and research tools while validating their outputs. Depending on the work, build AI-assisted security capabilities or investigate risks in AI-enabled systems.
  • Contribute to ongoing security operations, maintain documentation, and identify opportunities to improve team tools and workflows.
  • Own assigned work and collaborate with security and software engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and regular feedback. Raise blockers and seek guidance when needed.
  • Demonstrate your solutions, explain their results and limitations, and document them so others can use and maintain them.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full time in a bachelor or masters program in Computer Science or a related technical field and are graduating by August 2027.
  • Familiarity with Java, Python, JavaScript, or other related object-oriented programming languages
  • Knowledge of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them meet security challenges
  • Familiarity with the application of common design patterns
  • Demonstrated interest in the security field through academic coursework, previous work or internship experience, or personal projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience investigating security weaknesses through application testing, code analysis, configuration reviews, or security research.
  • Exposure to one or more areas such as application security, cloud security, identity and access management, endpoint security, or data protection.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools or building with LLM APIs, including testing and validating their outputs.
  • Examples of technical work that explain your approach, findings, and results, such as projects, security write-ups, or open-source contributions.
  • Experience can come from academic, personal, research, or internship work.
  • Optional Work Samples: If you have a publicly shareable project, security write-up, or technical investigation, include a link with your application. We’re interested in how you approached the problem, validated your findings, and explained the results. Please do not share confidential information or undisclosed vulnerabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
