What you’ll do

Authentic is building its SEC reporting function as the Company prepares to become publicly traded. The Director of SEC Reporting will report to the Vice President of Technical Accounting and Policy and will play a key role in the Company’s IPO and transition to ongoing public-company reporting. The Director will lead day-to-day SEC reporting execution under the oversight of the Vice President, who retains overall accountability for the function. This hands-on role will lead the preparation of SEC filings and related financial disclosures, establish scalable reporting processes, and coordinate reporting workstreams across the organization and with external advisers. This individual will also serve as a subject matter expert on SEC reporting and disclosure requirements, including Regulations S-X and S-K, MD&A, non-GAAP financial measures, and other matters affecting the Company’s external financial reporting.

What you’ll be working on

  • Support the preparation and filing of the Company’s initial registration statement and subsequent amendments, including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other financial disclosures.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K and other SEC filings containing financial information.
  • Manage the end-to-end SEC reporting process, including data collection, disclosure development, drafting, internal and external review, XBRL tagging, and EDGAR filing.
  • Coordinate financial reporting workstreams across internal functions and with external auditors, legal counsel, underwriters, filing providers, and other advisers.
  • Support the evaluation and preparation of acquired-business financial statements, pro forma financial information, and related disclosures required by Regulation S-X.
  • Establish and maintain reporting calendars, ownership matrices, disclosure checklists, review protocols, controls, and supporting documentation, including materials for Disclosure Committee meetings.
  • Prepare responses to SEC staff comments and maintain documentation supporting significant disclosures and reporting conclusions.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of earnings releases, investor presentations, and other external financial communications.
  • Review non-GAAP financial measures and related disclosures for compliance with SEC rules and interpretive guidance.
  • Monitor accounting standards, SEC rules, and disclosure developments; assess their impact on the Company’s reporting; and benchmark disclosures against peer companies.
  • Evaluate and document significant or complex accounting and reporting matters affecting SEC filings.

Must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and an active CPA license; Master of Accountancy or Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • At least eight years of progressive accounting experience, including Big Four public accounting experience and substantial SEC reporting experience at a public company.
  • Direct, hands-on experience preparing or reviewing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K and the related financial statements and disclosures.
  • Experience supporting an IPO, initial registration statement, or other securities offering strongly preferred; experience assisting in the preparation of the financial sections of Form S-1 is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Regulations S-X and S-K.
  • Experience with MD&A, non-GAAP financial measures, earnings releases, and public-company reporting processes and controls.
  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams across functions under demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, professional judgment, and accountability.
  • Experience with NetSuite OneWorld, OneStream, and Workiva preferred.

Primary Location Salary: $165,000 - $170,000

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
