Job Description
As a Reliability Engineer at our Peachtree City, GA manufacturing plant, reporting to the Engineering & Technology Manager, you will support site objectives associated with Safety, Service, Quality, Growth and Profitability by providing Mechanical engineering leadership for the business. In this role, you will develop and improve systems that create sustainable results, leading mechanical engineering initiatives to continuously improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
- Onsite position located at the Peachtree City, GA manufacturing facility, responsible for designing, evaluating, and modifying complex mechanical and electromechanical devices or systems to continuously improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Implement and optimize a Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program using predictive tools such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis to eliminate unplanned downtime, improve product quality, and prevent material losses.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures, lead the implementation of corrective actions to improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and maintain Criticality Analysis for plant assets to prioritize maintenance resources and spare parts inventory.
- Manage small to medium capital projects for industrial equipment, including developing bid specifications, soliciting bids, managing project schedules and budgets, hiring contractors, and supervising installations.
- Lead problem-solving events, mentor maintenance and operations colleagues, develop technical training, and represent the site as a key technical contact with external personnel on significant engineering matters.
- Apply comprehensive mechanical engineering principles to analyze, design, and test new or improved products, evaluating design data to establish technical specifications and production approaches.
- Manage project execution by leading progress meetings, tracking cross-functional commitments, and escalating critical risks to leadership to ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred), with 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing environments required (5+ years preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical, pneumatic, steam, liquid piping, and hydraulic systems, with demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD for updating plant layouts, P&IDs, and machine details. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, drawings and technical manuals.
- Experience utilizing CMMS platforms (such as Agility, SAP PM, Maximo, or similar) alongside practical experience in capital equipment purchasing and project management.
- Preferred experience with paper or film handling equipment.
- Professional certification as a Reliability Professional (e.g., CMRP) or Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification preferred, or practical experience applying Lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
- Self-motivated continuous improvement focus paired with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-functional leadership skills.
