SUMMARY

The Senior Salesforce Architect serves as a senior technical leader within Avetta’s Business Systems organization, responsible for defining scalable, sustainable, and secure solution architectures across the Salesforce platform and its surrounding business application ecosystem.

This role leads architectural design for complex initiatives that span Salesforce and integrated systems, ensuring solutions align with business priorities, data governance standards, platform best practices, and long-term maintainability. The architect translates complex business requirements into clear technical designs covering application behavior, data flows, integrations, automation patterns, security, and operational support.

The ideal candidate combines deep Salesforce expertise with a broad systems mindset and is able to evaluate trade-offs across the full technology landscape, including GTM, support, finance, and enterprise integration touchpoints. This role acts as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, drives architectural consistency across teams, and helps reduce complexity by establishing reusable patterns, clear standards, and scalable design practices.

If residing within commutable distance (30 miles or closer) to one of our offices, a hybrid schedule would be required (3 days in office, 2 days work from home). Candidates within commutable distance are preferred, but those outside of an office area may be considered on a remote basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solution Architecture & Technical Design Leadership

  • Lead architecture and solution design for complex initiatives involving Salesforce and connected enterprise applications.
  • Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical designs, including system interactions, data models, automation patterns, APIs, event flows, security, and operational considerations.
  • Define scalable architecture patterns that balance business agility with platform stability, supportability, and maintainability.
  • Conduct architecture reviews for high-impact enhancements, integrations, and strategic programs.
  • Establish and maintain architecture standards, reference patterns, and design guardrails across Business Systems workstreams.
  • Ensure solutions make appropriate use of declarative capabilities, custom development, and integration patterns based on complexity, risk, and long-term ownership.

Platform & Ecosystem Strategy

  • Provide architectural leadership across the Salesforce ecosystem, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, platform automation, DevOps, and related business systems.
  • Evaluate solution impacts across upstream and downstream systems such as marketing, finance, support, data, and custom integration services.
  • Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to align architecture decisions with strategic priorities, roadmap direction, and delivery constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the application landscape, reduce technical debt, standardize core business logic, and improve data integrity across systems.
  • Guide the evolution of core business capabilities such as lead routing, territory assignment, customer data management, quoting, and workflow orchestration.

Integration, Data, & Operational Architecture

  • Define integration architectures and system boundaries that support reliable, observable, and resilient data exchange between Salesforce and external platforms.
  • Drive best practices for API design, event-driven processing, retry handling, monitoring, logging, and error management.
  • Partner with data, DevOps, and application teams to improve traceability, release readiness, environment alignment, and operational supportability.
  • Ensure architecture decisions support data governance, security, compliance, and auditability requirements.
  • Promote sound patterns for master data ownership, system-of-record clarity, and cross-system process consistency.

Delivery Enablement & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Participate early in discovery, intake, and refinement activities to shape viable and scalable solution options before implementation begins.
  • Work closely with developers, administrators, QA, DevOps, analysts, and program leaders to ensure designs are actionable and delivery teams are aligned.
  • Mentor team members on architecture thinking, design quality, trade-off analysis, and platform best practices.
  • Support creation of architectural decision records, technical documentation, reusable assets, and solution playbooks.
  • Present technical designs and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Help establish and evolve architectural governance practices, review forums, and design approval processes.
  • Drive improvements that reduce rework, improve change safety, strengthen release confidence, and increase the scalability of the Business Systems organization.
  • Maintain awareness of Salesforce roadmap changes, integration tooling, AI-enabled platform capabilities, and broader enterprise application trends relevant to the role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, IDEAL EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced experience with Salesforce platform architecture across declarative, programmatic, integration, and security domains.
  • 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise applications, systems design, or SaaS platform delivery.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting solutions that span Salesforce and multiple integrated enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, platform limits, security model, data model design, automation tooling, and custom development patterns.
  • Experience with enterprise integrations, including REST and event-driven patterns, middleware or orchestration concepts, and cross-system data synchronization.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, scalable, and supportable technical designs.
  • Experience leading design reviews, architecture governance discussions, and cross-functional solution workshops.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, system-of-record design, observability, and operational support considerations.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments with close collaboration across product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs in business terms.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Developer, or equivalent credentials preferred.
  • Training or experience in enterprise integration architecture, API design, and distributed system thinking.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, source control, environment strategy, and release governance in Salesforce-centric delivery models.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, master data concepts, and enterprise application architecture practices.
  • Experience working with adjacent business platforms such as marketing automation, ERP, billing, support, data, or customer-facing systems.
  • Exposure to architecture documentation methods such as decision records, reference architectures, sequence diagrams, and solution design artifacts.
  • Ongoing professional development in Salesforce, enterprise architecture, integration patterns, AI-assisted delivery, or related disciplines.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
