Job Title: Forward Deployed Solutions Engineer - AIM

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Employment Type: Full-time, hybrid (50% office presence)

The Job

The Forward Deployed Solution Engineer – AIM independently owns significant, complex technical workstreams within a defined FDE engagement. Working within agreed architecture, governance, and engagement priorities.

The role translates customer domain workflows, requirements, data, integrations, and deployment constraints into reliable working thin-slice solutions. The role is accountable for technical quality, schedule, customer value, reusable outputs, contributor coordination, and timely escalation of broader architecture or portfolio trade-offs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own significant, complex FDE technical workstreams from discovery and planning through validation and handover.
  • Define the workstream approach, delivery plan, quality measures, and acceptance criteria within agreed architecture and governance.
  • Translate customer requirements, data, integrations, workflows, and constraints into reliable working thin-slice solutions.
  • Build, configure, integrate, prototype, test, troubleshoot, and validate AVEVA solutions in real customer environments.
  • Make practical implementation decisions and resolve non-routine technical issues across APIs, data flows, configuration, AI, security, performance, scalability, and deployment.
  • Balance customer value, technical feasibility, delivery velocity, quality, reuse, and production readiness.
  • Coordinate engineers and cross-functional contributors to deliver measurable workstream outcomes.
  • Lead technical discovery, demonstrations, testing, acceptance, performance checks, and production-readiness activities for assigned workstreams.
  • Create reusable connectors, configurations, templates, components, AI patterns, accelerators, and implementation playbooks.
  • Capture technical learning, product gaps, constraints, and improvement opportunities for Product, R&D, Leads, Architects, and future engagements.

Essential Skills

  • Typically around 8-10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability in industrial technology implementation and complex technical delivery.
  • Deep hands-on capability in AVEVA solution configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and handover.
  • Strong working knowledge of AVEVA products, customer domain workflows, industrial data, customer systems, APIs, cloud/edge, security, performance, and deployment constraints.
  • Brings unique blend of Software development using various AI techniques and models along with Application Engineering expertise.
  • Ability to apply domain context to technical scoping, solution fit, trade-off decisions, value framing, and validation outcomes.
  • Strong software design, implementation, programming, connector, data-flow, scripting, and system-integration capability.
  • Developing AI Agents, Skills, Tools, Plugins etc. using any one of the agentic frameworks preferably MAF
  • AI tools for SDLC like Copilot & practical awareness of AI/ML and Generative AI use cases within agreed technical, safety, and governance guidance.
  • Sound judgment in resolving non-routine technical issues and making implementation trade-offs within agreed architecture and policy.
  • Strong customer-facing technical communication and ability to translate complex needs into practical implementation approaches.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional contributors and coach less-experienced engineers while remaining hands-on and accountable for workstream outcomes.

  • Complex FDE technical workstreams are delivered independently, with clear ownership of technical quality, timelines, validation, and customer-value outcomes.
  • Customer workflows, data, integrations, and constraints are translated into reliable working thin-slice solutions that demonstrate measurable value.
  • Implementation trade-offs are made with sound judgment, balancing feasibility, speed, quality, reuse, security, performance, and production readiness.
  • Reusable connectors, configurations, templates, components, AI patterns, accelerators, and implementation playbooks improve future FDE delivery.
  • Product, R&D, Leads, Architects, and future engagement teams receive clear, practical learning on product gaps, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
