Position & Purpose Summary

The Vice President, Insights and Advisory position represents a key role on the leadership team, responsible for helping to build and grow a nationally recognized digital health Operations Transformation practice. This leader will serve as a visible industry thought leader, trusted advisor to senior health system executives, and experienced consulting executive who can translate market needs into high-value advisory engagements.

This role requires extensive consulting experience and a proven ability to build and maintain deep client relationships, lead teams, originate and close work, scope and price projects, oversee complex engagements, manage utilization and margins, and develop repeatable offerings that create measurable value for clients. Experience advising health systems on artificial intelligence—particularly AI governance, responsible AI adoption, operating models, and the organizational implications of AI—is highly valued and will be increasingly important to the growth and differentiation of the practice.

Core Responsibilities

Practice Leadership & Financial Performance

  • Own the strategy, growth plan, operating rhythm, and overall financial performance of the Insights & Advisory team.
  • Set and manage annual revenue, bookings, margin, utilization, and pipeline targets, using performance data to guide decisions and corrective action.
  • Build scalable methodologies, tools, and offerings that improve quality, consistency, and profitability.

Business Development, Selling & Pricing

  • Identify, develop, and close consulting opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Lead executive-level business development efforts, including discovery, solution development, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
  • Scope, price, and structure consulting engagements by defining deliverables, staffing models, timelines, commercial terms, and project economics to achieve client value and practice profitability.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and revenue forecast while coaching others in consultative selling.

Client Relationships & Thought Leadership

  • Build and maintain deep, trusted relationships with senior executives across hospitals and health systems.
  • Serve as a visible thought leader with a strong point of view on healthcare operations, digital transformation, innovation, and market trends.
  • Represent the practice in executive forums, client meetings, industry events, publications, and other public-facing settings.
  • Use industry insight and client relationships to identify emerging needs and shape new advisory offerings.

Consulting Delivery & Quality

  • Provide executive oversight for multiple complex engagements and ensure work is delivered on time, on budget, and at a high level of quality.
  • Guide teams through ambiguous problems, complex stakeholder environments, and high-stakes recommendations.
  • Ensure recommendations are practical, evidence-based, financially sound, and tailored to the client context.
  • Intervene early when projects face scope, staffing, quality, client satisfaction, or financial risk.
  • Create strong executive-level deliverables and ensure teams communicate findings with clarity and impact.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop a multi-level consulting team, including directors, managers, consultants, analysts, and subject matter experts.
  • Make effective staffing decisions based on skills, capacity, development goals, and client needs.
  • Set clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and hold team members accountable for quality, client service, utilization, and results.
  • Coach team members in consulting skills, executive communication, commercial judgment, and business development.
  • Lead hiring, performance management, succession planning, and retention efforts for the practice.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, accountability, intellectual rigor, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive consulting, advisory, or professional services experience, with substantial experience serving hospitals and health systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading a consulting practice, service line, or significant portfolio of client engagements.
  • Proven track record selling consulting services and achieving revenue or bookings goals.
  • Hands-on experience scoping, pricing, negotiating, and contracting consulting engagements.
  • Experience managing consulting economics, including revenue, margin, utilization, staffing, and project performance.
  • Proven success leading, coaching, and developing high-performing consulting teams across multiple levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with C-suite and senior health system leaders.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare delivery, hospital operations, digital transformation, and the health system ecosystem.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MHA, MPH, or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as client and business needs require.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
