Technical Security Consultant (Cisco / Fortinet)

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Technical Security Consultant (Cisco / Fortinet) to join an Axians Nederlands project, working from Portugal. In this role, you combine strong technical expertise with excellent consulting and advisory skills. You advise customers on modern security architectures, conduct security assessments, and translate business objectives into future-proof security solutions. You will work with technologies and platforms such as Fortinet, Cisco Security, Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Network Access Control (NAC), Identity & Access Management (IAM), SIEM, IPS, WAF, Zero Trust frameworks, and cloud security solutions.

What You Will Do on a Daily Basis

  • Advising customers on cybersecurity strategies and security architectures.
  • Designing and implementing Cisco and Fortinet security solutions.
  • Conducting security assessments, risk analyses, and technical reviews.
  • Implementing NGFW, NAC, IAM, SIEM, IPS, and WAF solutions.
  • Guiding security improvement initiatives and incident analysis activities.
  • Delivering knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and customer presentations.
  • Monitoring market trends and translating technological innovations into new security services.

Your Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet security solutions.
  • Experience with Network Security, NGFW, NAC and IAM.
  • Knowledge of SIEM, IPS/IDS and WAF technologies.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust and Cloud Security concepts.
  • Experience in Security Architecture, Security Assessments and Risk Analysis.
  • Ability to design and implement cybersecurity solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent consulting, communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Proactive mindset and interest in new cybersecurity technologies and market trends.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
