About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Placement to lead and drive insurance partnerships while developing growth strategies for insurance products. As the Head of Placement, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial and Product teams to ensure the successful execution of action plans aligned with business goals.

Job Responsibilities

Lead Insurance Partnerships

  • Prospect, liaise and manage with business and insurance partners towards discovering value and providing great service quality as well as in the preparation and negotiation with respect to business relationships and transactions.
  • With growth as the primary KPI, look for strategic insurance partnerships to scale customer acquisition and Igloos brand equity.
  • Work closely and maintain good relationships with the insurance partners in the local market.

Develop Insurance Product Growth Strategies

  • Identify, prospect and close deals focused primarily on the on-demand industries - e-commerce, telco, travel and hospitality as well as healthcare.
  • Be on top of the markets and ecosystems requirements in terms of smart insurance and convert them into opportunities for Igloo.
  • Present on local countrys perspective to guide the commercial, product and insurance strategies.

Drive and Own Insurance Deliverables

  • Work closely with the regional Insurance, Product, Tech, Actuary, Commercial, Legal teams to develop insurance product requirements for product and technology deliveries; Ensure deliveries are meeting requirements.
  • Regularly drive commercial optimization for improvements.
  • Perform any ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Business / Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance placement, underwriting or brokerage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of General Insurance products, industry trends, and regulations
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, clients, insurers, and other stakeholders
  • Proven track record in building successful partnerships and managed at least a PHP 1 Billion business in the insurance space
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth environment, ideally with a mix of experience in MNCs and start ups
  • Analytical and strategic thinking on product and business development
