The posting

At Axis Communications we are passionate about creating a smarter and safer world! Are you excited about designing scalable data pipelines and enabling analytics and AI applications? We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Engineer to help shape how Global Operations uses data. You'll take technical ownership of data products and production pipelines, establish strong engineering practices, and work with teams across Axis to turn complex data into trusted, actionable insights. This role offers the opportunity to influence our data foundation, including the semantic models that support analytics and AI. Who is your future team? Operations Development is a cross-functional team of around 30 experts in Supply Chain, Project Management, Innovation, and System Management. You will specifically join the Operations Development Analytics team-a team of 8 highly skilled engineers focusing on BI and Analytics within Supply Chain. You will be reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager for Operations Development. While ClickHouse, Qlik Sense and Power BI are our key data & analytics platforms, the team also develops advanced analytics solutions using machine learning, generative AI, and a broad range of modern technologies.

What you'll do as a Senior Data Engineer? As a senior data engineer, you will create value and enable business growth by bringing data from across Axis together to gather actionable insights. Data & Analytics is passionate about making data, analytics and insights easily findable and explainable for the many to enable better and faster decision-making. This is a highly experienced, hands-on individual-contributor role. You'll take technical ownership of critical data products and pipelines, influence data engineering practices, and help shape our future-ready data platform.

Your focus will be to: Design, develop, and maintain data models and data products using our ClickHouse and dbt data platform, to support business needs of analytics and self-service reporting across Operations. Assess and improve existing models/pipelines, improving data quality and reliability. Working with process owners and integration experts you will design, implement, and maintain robust ETL/ELT production pipelines that integrate diverse internal and external data sources into Axis data platforms. Establish, promote, and enforce data engineering best practices, including data modelling standards, data quality, version control, testing, monitoring, documentation, and metadata management. Ensure that data access, privacy, and governance requirements are built into our solutions. Guide technical decisions and help the team choose solutions that balance reliability, scalability, and business value. Stay current with new data engineering technologies and practices, applying them where they create clear business value.

Who are you? You are an analytical thinker who thrives in an innovative, ever-changing environment. You enjoy the challenge of building relationships across organizational borders and can influence stakeholders to establish the best possible solutions. You aren't just interested in the "how" of the data, but the "why" of the business and you are genuinely curious about global supply chains and operational excellence. What we are looking for: Strong hands-on experience with modern data engineering practices, including workflow orchestration, transformation frameworks, analytical databases, and containerized environments. Experience with Airflow, dbt, ClickHouse, and Kubernetes is valuable. Extensive experience designing, building, and operating production-grade data platforms and end-to-end pipelines. With a track record of taking technical ownership and improving existing systems. Typically, this comes from 2-5 years of active ownership of existing systems. Strong skills in SQL and Python, data modelling, and data quality testing, including anomaly detection. Comfortable troubleshooting data issues and working with unclear or changing requirements. Commitment to high industry standards for collecting, managing, and transforming raw data into usable information. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented approach to ownership, cross-functional relationships, and knowledge sharing. Curiosity and adaptability-a proactive problem solver who enjoys learning, embraces change, and works well face-to-face in a dynamic global environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
