Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

We are seeking an International Accounting Senior Manager to join our growing international finance team and take ownership of the accuracy, timeliness and control of financial reporting across Axon's 20+ international entities. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. You will lead through technical expertise, judgement and influence, directing the work of outsourced statutory preparers and partnering with colleagues in corporate (US) accounting, tax, treasury, revenue and internal audit.

You will own the international period-end close and the overall plan for local audits and statutory filings, act as a technical authority on IFRS and US GAAP, serve as the lead contact for local auditors and filings, lead entity set-ups, and drive the improvement and automation of international accounting processes. The role suits an experienced, fully qualified accountant who is comfortable making and defending accounting judgements, working across time zones, and raising the standard of the team around them.

Location: Bucharest, Romania office

Reports to: Director of Accounting, International

Direct reports: None

What You'll Do

Close and reporting ownership

  • Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close across all international entities (20+), from calendar and deadline management through to review and sign-off, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to corporate (US) accounting
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany balances and financial schedules prepared by others, and confirm compliance with IFRS, US GAAP and Axon accounting policies
  • Lead balance sheet and P&L variance analysis, and present clear explanations of key movements to the Director of Accounting, International and wider finance leadership
  • Oversee cash, intercompany, foreign currency translation and remeasurement processes for the international entities

Technical accounting

  • Act as the technical accounting lead for the international entities: research, conclude and document positions on non-routine transactions, and prepare technical memos for auditors and internal stakeholders
  • Apply IFRS and US GAAP, with in-depth IFRS expertise and good working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606 and IFRS 15) and leases (ASC 842 and IFRS 16)
  • Identify, quantify and communicate differences between local GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, and make sure reporting is reconciled between them
  • Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on the international entities

Statutory reporting and audit

  • Set and own the overall plan for statutory reporting, local audits and filings across the international entities, including management of the outsourced statutory preparers on scope, timelines and the quality of the financial statements
  • Act as lead contact for local statutory auditors and filings, and work with the Director and the global auditors on the global audit: agree audit plans and PBC lists, manage queries, and resolve or escalate audit issues
  • Defend Axon's accounting positions with auditors where appropriate, and agree adjustments where they are warranted
  • Make sure local statutory filing deadlines are met, working with tax and legal

Entity set-ups and controls

  • Lead the accounting aspects of entity set-ups, expansion, acquisitions and system implementations
  • Support the internal controls over financial reporting for the international processes, including control design, evidence and remediation of deficiencies, working with internal audit
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures and process documentation for the international entities

Process improvement and projects

  • Identify, design and deliver process improvements and automation, including AI-enabled approaches, in the international accounting function
  • Improve the use of Microsoft D365 and Blackline across the international entities

Partnership and influence

  • Partner with corporate (US) accounting, tax, treasury, revenue, FP&A and internal audit to make sure international requirements are understood and met
  • Review the work of, and provide guidance and informal coaching to, accountants in the wider international team, without formal line management responsibility
  • Special projects and ad-hoc requests as assigned

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent (Big 4 training preferred) with 7+ years of post-qualified experience, gained either (i) in a US GAAP listed technology company with international operations, or (ii) in Big 4 practice at senior manager level or above, with strong IFRS and US GAAP exposure
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and good working knowledge of US GAAP, including revenue and leases, and the ability to research and conclude on complex or non-routine transactions
  • Proven ownership of the close across multiple international entities in a multi-currency environment
  • Experience of statutory reporting and audits across more than one jurisdiction, of working with both global and local auditors, and of supporting entity set-ups

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
