As a leader within the organization, the Director of Accounting will be responsible for corporate and intercompany accounting, including the Company’s corporate credit facility, interest rate swaps, and lease accounting.

The Director of Accounting will partner closely with Project Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Tax, and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting while driving process improvements, automation, and scalability. This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day accounting operations and building the processes needed to support a growing organization.

This position reports to the VP, Accounting and Reporting, with headcount expected to grow alongside the organization.

  • Oversee lease accounting and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and related system administration;
  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, driving continuous improvements to shorten timelines and enhance reporting quality;
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and journal entries and maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and general ledger structure;
  • Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules, improving quality, standardization, and documentation;
  • Perform analytical reviews and investigate unusual fluctuations and variances;
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment across core accounting processes;
  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, annual audits, and tax and regulatory reporting requirements;

Accounts Payable and Payment

  • Own the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including accounts payable operations and the vendor payment review and approval process;
  • Manage cash accounting activities, review bank reconciliations and cash-related transactions, and partner with FP&A to monitor liquidity and daily cash movements;

Systems, Process Improvement, and Leadership

  • Lead automation and process improvement initiatives, optimizing ERP systems and accounting tools to improve efficiency and scalability;
  • Develop and standardize accounting policies, procedures, and workflows;
  • Leverage technology and AI-enabled solutions, where appropriate, to increase accuracy and productivity;
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, building out the function as headcount grows with the organization;
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Key Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Active CPA license;
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience;
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams;
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls;
  • Experience in multi-entity environments, including consolidations, intercompany accounting, and elimination entries;
  • Experience managing the month-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience overseeing accounts payable and cash accounting functions;
  • Track record of implementing process improvements and automation initiatives;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Preferred

  • Public accounting experience;
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Coupa, or similar ERP and procurement platforms;
  • Experience with close management and reconciliation tools such as FloQast or similar platforms;

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
