The Sales & Business Development Director for Asia Pacific is responsible for defining and executing the regional sales and growth strategy to deliver sustained bookings, revenue, and margin growth across APAC. Reporting to the Vice President of Asia Pacific, this role has primary accountability for driving commercial performance through B&W’s direct sales teams and appointed third party Sales Representatives in selected markets. The role balances strategic leadership and hands on execution, with ownership of regional sales strategy, pipeline development, executive level customer engagement, partner management, and close coordination with operations to ensure commercial commitments are executable and profitable. The position plays a critical role in expanding B&W’s market presence, protecting and growing share of the installed base, and translating APAC market dynamics into actionable growth initiatives aligned with global business objectives.

  • Leads, directs, and coordinates APAC direct sales teams; sets clear goals, cadence, and performance expectations.
  • Selects, develops, and manages third party Sales Representatives in designated markets, including territory scope, targets, compliance, and brand alignment.
  • Builds executive level relationships and network with customers, owners, engineering, procurement and construction firms, and partners to grow priority accounts and improve market penetration, with emphasis on aftermarket services, upgrades, long term service agreements, and selective projects.
  • Owns and actively manages the regional opportunity pipeline using the Company’s customer relationship management system, ensuring disciplined qualification, value based selling, accurate forecasting, and timely conversion from opportunity to order.
  • Leads commercial excellence and deal governance by developing bid strategies, value propositions, and business cases; supports negotiations to secure commercially sound contracts aligned with risk, margin, and execution requirements.
  • Continuously assesses market conditions, regulatory changes, customer investment plans, and competitor activities to identify risks and opportunities and to adjust regional strategy accordingly.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Field Services, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to ensure sales commitments are executable, resource aligned, and optimized for lifecycle profitability.
  • Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and management updates on pipeline health, sales commitment forecast, order intake, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Builds, mentors, and develops a high performing sales and business development organization; coaches team members on value based selling, account management, and strategic alignment.
  • Identifies product & service improvements and developments through regular market intelligence gathering to protect and grow market share.
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and business development within the energy, power generation, or industrial services sector.
  • 5+ years in senior sales or commercial leadership roles with regional or multi country responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing both direct sales teams and third party sales representatives.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
