The posting

The Welder T3 is a highly skilled role responsible for performing complex welding tasks with minimal supervision. This position requires full proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes in all positions to AWS D1.1 code, and the ability to interpret advanced blueprints and specifications. The Welder IV ensures structural integrity, precision, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

  1. Perform take-offs and establish cut list from shop drawings, and shop order pages.
  2. Determine the appropriate equipment or method based on the provided requirements.
  3. Cut and work material using tools such as: oxygen/fuel cutting, horizontal band saw, iron worker, plate sheer, drill press, and various hand power tools.
  4. Layout assemblies and fabrications to be tacked and welded.
  5. Inspect completed welds for structural soundness and compliance with specifications
  6. Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment
  7. Perform welds using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes in all positions to AWS D1.1 code.
  8. Load and unload material from trucks to storage area and move material within workspace using forklifts.
  9. Operate overhead crane and/or assist with the rigging and moving of parts as required.
  10. Maintain necessary quality checks, record and complete process documentation and any other production and inspection records as required.
  11. Work from drawings, sketches, process sheets, shop order pages, and other forms of verbal and written communication.
  12. Ensure equipment is maintained in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  13. Use jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools to ensure accuracy and consistency
  14. Document production data and maintain records of work performed
  15. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
  16. Support Lean Manufacturing and Quality Management initiatives.
  17. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred work experience requirements;

  1. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED
  2. Requires 5-7 years’ experience or formal training in one of the following disciplines; mechanic, welding, machining
  3. Must obtain a valid Driver’s License
  4. Must obtain working knowledge of AWS D1.1, and AWS weld symbol interpretation
  5. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
  6. Profieciney in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
  7. Must be familiar with structural, and sheet metal welding, forming and various other fabrication processes
