DOUBLE IMPACT OVERVIEW

Bain Capital Double Impact (“BCDI”) is a middle market private equity strategy with a mandate to deliver competitive financial returns by investing into businesses that have measurable social or environmental impact. Now investing out of its third fund, the BCDI team invests across healthcare, technology and industrials to deliver positive outcomes for health and wellness, education and workforce development, and climate and sustainability goals.

The BCDI team models its investment approach on Bain Capital’s proven investment method to develop differentiated insights and drive change to enable the next phase of financial and impact growth for target companies. The investment strategy focuses on completing in-depth business, impact, and financial analyses, with an emphasis on strategic positioning, competitive dynamics, business model sustainability, and management team alignment. The investment professionals of BCDI provide significant ongoing strategic and operational support to its portfolio companies, seeking to maximize both financial returns and positive social or environmental impact.

SUMMER VICE PRESIDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Summer Vice President role is a 10-week Boston-based opportunity. The BCDI Summer VP position provides a unique opportunity to join a small and passionate investment team and play an active role in all elements of the business. This role includes partnering with experienced private equity investment professionals to drive both financial and impact value throughout our investment processes and ownership periods. Highly successful Summer VPs have demonstrated the ability to execute fundamental strategic analysis, apply sound business judgment, interact as peers with senior executives, and manage complex, fast-moving processes. These individuals are typically self-starters, feel a strong sense of ownership of their work, and have excellent team and interpersonal skills.

In addition, Summer VPs will benefit from a training program during their first week, which is designed to introduce Bain Capital's value-added investment approach. Summer VPs will learn how to evaluate investment opportunities through the application of fundamental strategic analysis. Summer VPs may also be exposed to a variety of portfolio company issues (e.g. potential add-on investments, improving core operations, etc.) and will gain unique operating experience. Bain Capital professionals are exposed to a broad set of situations and companies and systematically develop skills as a value-added investor -- not just a financial engineer.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional business analytic and quantitative skills
  • 2+ years of work experience in management consulting and/or investment management
  • Excellent professional and academic track record
  • Ability to operate with limited supervision
  • Highly analytical and strategic thinker
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong academic record from top undergraduate school
  • Currently enrolled in MBA degree program

COMPENSATION:

Expected Annual Base Salary: $165,000 – 170,000

This is the expected annual base salary range for this position. Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
