The posting

Baker Hughes is seeking a Business Development Advisor - M&A Finance to support key Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Execution and Capital Solutions activities within Corporate Development. In this role, you will leverage advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation expertise to evaluate strategic opportunities and support executive decision-making. Working closely with business leaders, Corporate Development, Finance, and external advisors, you will deliver critical analysis that informs acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic capital allocation initiatives.

Partner with the best

As a Business Development Advisor - M&A Finance, you will be part of Baker Hughes' Corporate Development organization and report directly to the Senior Director of M&A Finance. The team is responsible for developing company and market-level financial forecasts, valuation analyses, and transaction models that support the assessment of strategic growth opportunities.

This is a high-impact role that provides significant exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making across Baker Hughes. You will partner with Corporate Development, Corporate Finance, and business segment leaders to evaluate opportunities spanning Oil & Gas, LNG, compression, power generation, geothermal, hydrogen, and other emerging energy technologies.

Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities

  • Developing and maintaining sophisticated financial models, including three-statement models, discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, accretion/dilution models, and valuation frameworks.
  • Supporting the evaluation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Building company-level and market-level financial forecasts using historical performance, industry trends, and macroeconomic assumptions.
  • Conducting valuation analyses and assessing strategic alternatives to support investment recommendations.
  • Collaborating with business leaders, finance teams, and external advisors throughout transaction processes.
  • Performing financial, operational, and strategic analyses to identify key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Preparing executive-level presentations, investment committee materials, and transaction recommendations.
  • Interviewing and partnering with senior stakeholders to gather information, validate assumptions, and develop forecasting inputs.
  • Monitoring industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market developments relevant to Baker Hughes' strategic priorities.
  • Managing multiple transaction and analysis workstreams while delivering high-quality outputs within established timelines.
  • Supporting capital solutions initiatives and broader Corporate Development projects as required.

You will be eligible to participate in Company-sponsored benefit programs, including health & welfare programs and the Thrift Plan (401k). You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level, and specific requirements of each of these plans.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which can be found here, and is further eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses subject to the terms of the applicable benefit plans or policies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
