Job description

Bamboo Card is a Dubai-based B2B distributor of digital prepaid products and a rewards fulfilment partner to enterprises worldwide. Since 2018 we have built a catalogue of more than 3,500 products across over 80 countries, delivered through our client portal and API. More than 1,000 enterprise clients rely on us to power rewards programmes, employee incentives, customer acquisition campaigns and marketplace inventory. We sit in one of the fastest-growing corners of the payments ecosystem with the banking infrastructure and supplier relationships that make global digital rewards work at scale.

We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Engineering Manager to lead one or more engineering teams at Bamboo Card. In this role, you will own team delivery, health, and growth — partnering closely with Technical Leads on technical decisions and working directly with Product Managers to plan and execute engineering initiatives. You will also manage support ticket resolution, maintain transparent reporting to leadership, and ensure distributed team members remain aligned, engaged, and accountable.

What You'll Do

People Management & Team Health • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and growth plans for all direct reports. • Provide mentorship, feedback, and coaching to support career development. • Foster a culture of collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous improvement. • Support the onboarding, integration, and retention of remote and onsite team members. • Lead bi-annual team evaluation rounds, ensuring reviews are timely, constructive, and growth-oriented.

Delivery & Execution • Own end-to-end planning and execution of engineering initiatives — features, epics, and milestones. • Partner with Product Managers to define realistic sprint goals and timelines. • Monitor progress, remove blockers proactively, and keep delivery on track. • Lead sprint grooming, planning, reviews, retrospectives, and delivery follow-ups.

Planning & Reporting • Define quarterly and annual engineering goals in collaboration with the CTO and Product. • Own and track KPIs related to delivery, quality, and team performance. • Provide clear, concise status reports and forecasts to leadership. • Highlight risks, dependencies, and capacity challenges proactively.

Technical Involvement • Collaborate with Technical Leads on design decisions, roadmaps, and design reviews. • Participate in code reviews, incident analysis, and performance reviews as needed. • Stay technically informed enough to guide conversations and unblock teams without micromanaging. • Provide hands-on support for critical deliveries when required.

Support Ownership • Own and coordinate resolution of engineering-related support tickets, triaging by severity and impact. • Ensure timely assignment, resolution, and tracking of all engineering support issues. • Lead post-incident reviews and follow-ups with clear documentation. • Track recurring incidents and initiate long-term fixes to reduce support volume.

Remote Workforce Oversight • Review and approve remote employees' working hours and timesheets. • Ensure distributed teams stay aligned, engaged, and accountable. • Facilitate remote-friendly standups, updates, and collaboration rituals.

Who You Are

Experience & Technical Background • 3+ years of experience in engineering management or an equivalent leadership role. • Strong technical background in .NET Core, microservices, and event-driven architecture. • Knowledge of AWS including cost management, service monitoring, and security. • Proven experience with delivery planning, agile methodologies, and execution tracking. • Experience managing remote teams and distributed engineering environments. Leadership & Process Skills • Strong communication and people leadership skills. • Hands-on experience managing support processes and incident response. • Comfortable providing status updates, progress forecasts, and risk reports to senior leadership. • Strong documentation and presentation skills. • Proven ability in problem-solving, performance optimisation, and API monitoring.

Job benefits

• A collaborative and detail-driven finance team within a fast-growing digital gifting platform. • Competitive salary and benefits package aligned to the UAE market (visa, health insurance, and additional benefits). • Opportunity to grow with the business and take on expanded responsibilities over time. • A diverse, entrepreneurial team that values accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement. • The chance to be part of Bamboo Card's next chapter as we scale our platform, expand our brand catalogue, and grow across new markets.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
