Job Description

As an Individual Contributor, this role serves as Commercial Banking's primary resource for deposit intelligence, portfolio performance reporting, and forward-looking opportunity analysis. By transforming portfolio, market, and client information into actionable insights, it helps identify deposit trends, opportunities, and risks, prioritize relationship activities, and support disciplined, profitable growth through close partnership with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Treasury Management, Finance, Product, Risk, Operations, and other stakeholders. The position anticipates emerging trends, challenges assumptions constructively, and translates complex information into clear recommendations that equip bankers with targeted intelligence and actionable strategies to improve client acquisition, retention, share of wallet, deposit quality, and long-term relationship value.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Intelligence and Trend Analysis: Develops and maintains a comprehensive view of the Commercial Banking deposit portfolio. Analyzes balances, flows, mix, pricing, concentration, seasonality, client behavior, product utilization, attrition, and other relevant drivers. Distinguishes recurring activity from anomalies and explains the business factors underlying material changes. Provides actionable insights that support portfolio growth, profitability, and retention.
  • Growth Opportunity Identification: Proactively identifies high-potential prospects, existing-client expansion opportunities, underpenetrated relationships, emerging market segments, and actionable cross-sell opportunities. Develops fact-based recommendations regarding where Commercial Banking should focus coverage, calling activity, resources, and strategic attention.
  • Risk, Retention, and Early-Warning Analytics: Monitors deposit outflows, concentration, pricing sensitivity, runoff indicators, unusual changes, relationship attrition, and other portfolio risks. Establishes practical alerts and escalation routines, partners with relationship teams to validate findings, and recommends retention or remediation strategies.
  • Executive Reporting and Decision Support: Produces concise dashboards, recurring performance reporting, forecasts, pipeline views, and executive-ready analyses. Converts data into clear conclusions, quantifies opportunities where supportable, outlines implications, and recommends specific actions, owners, and follow-up measures.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Maintains awareness of market conditions, competitor activity, client preferences, industry developments, pricing dynamics, and relevant economic or regulatory developments. Evaluates their potential impact on commercial deposits and recommends responsive growth, pricing, coverage, or product strategies.
  • Strategic Initiatives and Enablement: Supports targeted campaigns, client segmentation, banker scorecards, planning processes, ad hoc analyses, and special projects. Improves data definitions, reporting consistency, analytical tools, and repeatable processes that enable relationship teams to act on deposit insights efficiently. Promotes greater consistency, transparency, and efficiency in the delivery of actionable deposit intelligence.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, data analytics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or certification(s) may be considered in lieu of degree. Advanced degree and/or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in commercial banking, treasury management, deposit analytics, finance, business intelligence, strategy, or a related financial services environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and the management of large data sets. Experience with business intelligence, data visualization, database, query, and reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong commercial judgment and intellectual curiosity. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple data sources and translate complex findings into actionable business insights. Ability to connect data to client behavior and business outcomes, influence without direct authority, protect confidential information, and manage multiple priorities independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill proficiency in business acumen, communication, continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, data analytics, financial acumen, portfolio analysis, strategic thinking, and quantitative & qualitative research.
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill proficiency in customer experience, decision making & judgement, risk analysis, and technology literacy.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
