Job Description

The Senior Health Care Data Analyst is responsible for providing enterprise-level analytics leadership for quality and regulatory programs. Architect data models and measurement methodologies, conduct advanced analysis, and advise executives on strategies to improve outcomes, manage financial risk, and meet evolving CMS and accreditation requirements. Lead cross-functional initiatives, coach analysts, and steward vendor and budget relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Leads multi-site, multi-stakeholder initiatives with high ambiguity and enterprise impact.
  • Sets analytical standards, measurement definitions, and governance for the quality analytics portfolio.
  • Owns relationships with external vendors and regulatory bodies; anticipates and mitigates organizational risk.
  • Designs advanced algorithms and data models to support mission-critical quality and outcome measurement, including risk adjustment.
  • Synthesizes complex data into executive-ready insights with clear recommendations, scenarios, and ROI/financial impact.
  • Monitors CMS rulemaking and accreditation standards; translate changes into operational playbooks and analytics updates.
  • Establishes data quality SLAs, lineage, and governance; lead remediation of cross-system data issues.
  • Serves as program/project lead for high-visibility initiatives from discovery through adoption and benefit realization.
  • Evaluates, selects, and implements analytics and registry vendors; manage contracts, budgets, and product roadmaps.
  • Mentors and develops analysts across levels; lead communities of practice and training.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, security, and privacy policies; represent analytics in audits and risk reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Care Administration, Mathematics, Nursing, Public Health Required or
  • Four years of related experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree Required
  • Master's Degree Business Administration, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Care Administration, Mathematics, Nursing, Public Health Preferred

Minimum Work Experience

  • 2 years Working as Health Care Data Analyst II Required or
  • 5 years Leveraging information systems to analyze and present data Required and
  • 2 years Experience in a healthcare setting Required
  • 4 years Experience in healthcare Preferred
