Job Description
The Clinical Manager has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. This position has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, human resource, and financial management. This role is responsible for unit's operations. This role demonstrates superior communication skills with all internal and external customers and exhibits a high degree of integrity, a solid character, and sound judgment.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Maintains current documentation and required licensure, certifications, required education, and competencies in accordance with unit scope of service and professional standards. Pursues professional growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
- Promotes a culture of patient centered care aligned with organizational values and patient experience standards.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facility meeting goals and objectives.
- Maintains responsibility for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of team members, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates team member’s performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
- Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing Required
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Nursing, Health Care, Within three (3) years of employment Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years Clinical nursing experience. Required
- 1 year Supervisory/leadership (may consider charge nurse experience) experience. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Professional Nursing Certification Upon Hire Preferred
- ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Upon Hire Required
- PALS Provider (PALS) American Heart Association within 90 Days Required
- Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI) within 90 Days Required
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within 1 Year Required
