The role – what you’ll do
Barr is seeking a business analyst to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support enterprise initiatives by partnering with business leaders, operational teams, and technical teams to define business needs, improve processes, and align data and system requirements. This role serves as a lead business analyst, helping translate strategic priorities and operational challenges into clear requirements, actionable plans, and scalable solutions. You will play a key role in connecting business operations, data, and technology to support effective solution delivery and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and collaboration skills that enable them to effectively align teams and drive progress. They approach their work with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and are comfortable working through ambiguity while organizing complex information into clear, actionable outputs.
Your impact – key responsibilities
- Business analysis leadership and delivery Serve as a business analyst for strategic and operational initiatives, defining scope, objectives, business needs, and success measures; partner with stakeholders to understand current-state processes, identify pain points, clarify requirements, and recommend practical improvements.
- Requirements, data, and solution definition Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, process flows, data requirements, and solution documentation; support process and data alignment by defining key inputs, outputs, ownership, quality expectations, and system dependencies.
- Cross-functional alignment and facilitation Facilitate alignment between business operations, data teams, technical teams, and system owners; lead stakeholder discussions, workshops, and working sessions to drive decisions, resolve ambiguity, and best ensure shared understanding of process changes, reporting needs, integrations, and system impacts.
- Process improvement and implementation support Analyze current-state and future-state processes to identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and efficiency; support prioritization of business needs and enhancements; and assist with testing, validation, change management, training, and implementation activities.
- Documentation and continuous improvement Develop documentation, presentations, and recommendations; monitor outcomes after implementation and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement. Support the development of standard business analysis practices and templates and mentorship of business analysts across the organization.

About you – required core competencies
- Education: bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, analytics, operations, or equivalent related experience
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, process analyst, operational analyst, product analyst, or similar roleExperience leading business analysis activities on cross-functional initiatives Strong understanding of business process mapping, requirements gathering, stakeholder facilitation, and solution documentation Working knowledge of data concepts, including data definitions, data quality, reporting needs, system inputs/outputs, and data dependencies Experience with Agile delivery practices or Lean/Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies Ability to partner effectively with technical teams, including information systems or technology teams, data engineering, application teams, and system owners Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills Experience supporting process improvement, operational transformation, system implementation, or enterprise initiatives Ability to work through ambiguity, organize complex information, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
Helpful additional experience (not required)
- Experience using Python, SQL, or other programming and/or scripting languages to analyze data, automate tasks, or support business processes
Compensation: anticipated range of $90,000–$110,000 per year. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance. This position is classified as exempt (salaried) under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
