Position Description:

Would you like to have a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Water Resources Specialist with our Water Resources department. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the administration, protection, and management of Nevada Gold Mines’ (NGM) water rights, water use data, and regulatory obligations. Provide technical, administrative, and field-based support to ensure water rights remain in good standing, reporting obligations are met, and NGM’s water assets are accurately documented and protected.

At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. We are committed to a safe work environment, sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile, organize, and maintain data and supporting documentation for Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR) filings, including proofs, extensions of time, pumpage reports, reports of conveyance, and change applications.
  • Draft administrative forms for management review; track permit deadlines and obligations to help ensure water rights remain in good standing and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Collect, compile, validate, and maintain pumpage, totalizer, water-level, and related water-use data; prepare monthly summaries and support basin inventories and monitoring-plan reporting.
  • Maintain accurate databases and organized records for water rights, wells and well logs, pumpage, regulatory correspondence, permits, orders, agreements, invoices, and other supporting documentation.
  • Perform routine field work, including meter readings, water-level measurements, and site investigations at wells, springs, surface-water features, pipelines, and storage facilities. This includes collecting and documenting photographs, GPS coordinates, field observations, and other information needed to verify and support filings.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, malfunctioning equipment, access issues, or discrepancies between records and field conditions and elevate issues as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Environmental, Operations, Legal, consultants, ranching teams, and other stakeholders
  • Support special projects related to water-right strategy and policy, database improvements, process improvements, consultant coordination, and development of standard operating procedures for data collection, filings, and tracking.
  • Independently review assigned data, filings, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness prior to management review; prioritize and sequence work to meet regulatory deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Technical education is preferred, or commensurate years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience with GIS and various database platforms is preferred.
  • Experience in a mining or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities, meet regulatory deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to review data and documentation for accuracy and reasonableness, identify anomalies or missing information, and seek clarification or escalate issues when needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform occasional field work at remote sites and walk on wet, slick, icy, uneven, or obstructed ground.

What We Can Offer You

  • A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
  • Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.
  • Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.
  • Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
