ABOUT US

Basecamp Research is building frontier AI for therapeutic design. We believe the future of medicine lies in reprogramming the body to repair itself, and we design the models and the medicines to teach it how.

Our EDEN models are trained on BaseData, the world's largest proprietary genomic dataset, with over 10B genes collected through partnerships in more than 30 countries across all seven continents. This gives our AI models access to genetic diversity that doesn't exist in public databases, and enables EDEN to design cell and gene therapies, enzymes, and peptides directly from information about a disease. Our pipeline of EDEN-designed therapeutics, beginning with in vivo cell therapy, is advancing towards clinical development.

In September 2026 we closed an oversubscribed $140M Series C led by S32, with participation from NVIDIA, Anthropic's Anthology Fund, Catalio, European Tech Collective, Firebrand River Capital, King Philanthropies, NATO Innovation Fund, NVentures (NVIDIA's venture arm), Redalpine, Rockefeller Foundation, Singular, Sovereign AI and True Ventures. We have offices and labs in London and Boston, we partner with biopharma companies and academic institutions worldwide, and our work has been recognised by Fast Company's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Biotech, the FT-backed Sifted AI100 list of Europe's leading AI startups as well as Barclays Eagle Labs Ones to watch, AI100.

At Basecamp Research, we pride ourselves on being a lean collaborative and global team with extremely specialist and unique skills. Our biologists, engineers, ML scientists and field explorers are united by a sense of adventure and the belief that AI, biology and data, will result in new medicines for patients who have few options today.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly capable and proactive Global Research Program Manager, Global Research to join our London team, embedded within the Global Research organization. You will serve as the connective tissue between departments, driving internal operational efficiency, coordinating cross-team projects, managing key partnerships, and overseeing the tools and operations that our technical teams rely on.

In this role, you will focus on optimizing processes, facilitating collaboration, goal setting/tracking and supporting the team in meeting deliverables, as well as liaising with counterparts through Partnerships with external partners.

You’ll report directly to the VP of Global Research, operating in tight dotted-line alignment with the Founding Technical Program Manager. In this capacity, you will ensure that training data is synchronised with Basecamp's frontier AI model releases. You will need to ensure that our team of field scientists and production team can focus on pioneering research and development. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on operator who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment where no two days are the same and wants to make a big impact on how a cutting-edge biotech company scales its operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

External Partnership Establishment & Efficiency

- Manage and develop relationships with external technical and scientific partners. This includes coordinating joint projects with research collaborators, universities, sequencing vendors, and future Alliances with partners and ensuring that these partnerships are productive and aligned with our goals.

- Own the operational coordination between the Global Research team and Basecamp's external sequencing providers (tracking sample send-offs, managing provider timelines, and maintaining clear visibility of where each batch sits in the pipeline)

- Flag quality or capacity issues early and work with providers to resolve them before they become programme blockers

- As sequencing volume scales, ensure the handoff between field, production, and provider is professionally managed rather than coordinated informally

Scientific Output

- For every active collaboration or partnership: what the publication is, who leads it, where the writing time comes from, and when it submits

- Ensure commitments made at signature: data return, capacity building, sampling deliverables

- Coordinate publication timelines across collaborations, sequencing high-impact outputs to support Basecamp's scientific narrative and partner obligations

- As the R+D team builds out protocols and finalises methodology, ensure those are rolled out to partner labs and that data is received within expected timelines

- Link targeted expedition outputs to downstream R+D planning

Cross-Functional Coordination & Process Improvement

- Work across Global Research, Data Science, and Science teams to plan and execute cross-functional initiatives, especially in the context of generating data for foundational model development.

- Work in close partnership with the Founding TPM to ensure teams are aware and in-sync with each other’s work and we work as one team to achieve our mission as fast as possible.

- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement in internal workflows; implement new processes or tools to boost operational efficiency without adding bureaucratic overhead

- Promote effective knowledge sharing across teams: ensuring learnings, best practices, and project updates are documented in a lightweight, accessible way

- Tooling & Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of the software tools and platforms used by our technical teams (e.g. project management systems, lab management systems & data systems). Make sure our Production and R+D teams have the right tools and partners with both the Data & Science team to prevent operational fragmentation or parallel status reporting.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- 5+ years of experience in programme or project management within a scientific, research, or biotech organisation. You have coordinated complex, multi-workstream programmes with multiple stakeholders and delivered them

- A track record of holding scientists, field teams, and partner organisations accountable to timelines and deliverables without damaging relationships

- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You naturally build the process that prevents the problem rather than solving it repeatedly

- Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can produce a clear status report, a partner update, and an internal escalation without needing someone else to translate

- Experience managing relationships with external vendors or partners, ideally in scientific or technical contexts: comfortable evaluating services, tracking SLAs, and keeping providers accountable

- Scientific literacy: you don't need to be in the lab, but you should be familiar enough with genomics, sequencing workflows, and data pipelines to have informed discussions and spot where things are going wrong

- Proactive, resourceful, and independent: you spot issues before they escalate and rally the right people to fix them

- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change; Basecamp is scaling quickly and the playbook is still being written

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Experience at a research funder (Wellcome, Gates Foundation, CGIAR) or a research organisation (ARIA, Crick, Sanger, EMBL) where scientific deliverables are tracked against contractual commitments

- Familiarity with access and benefit-sharing frameworks, DSI governance, or international biodiversity research partnerships

- Experience coordinating scientific publications across multi-institutional collaborations

- Master's or PhD in life sciences, computational sciences, or a related field

- Prior experience at a high-growth startup or in scaling operations for a technical team

WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURN

- Impactful Mission: This is a rare chance to do work that genuinely matters. You'll join a talented, fast-moving team, access unique biological datasets at scale, and see your contributions shape real breakthroughs in AI and curative therapeutics..

- Collaborative Culture: You'll be surrounded by world-class engineers, scientists, and researchers who care deeply about their work and about each other. With offices in London and Boston, we've built a flexible, cross-functional environment where personal development and real ownership aren't just talking points.

- High Growth: We truly believe in investing our top talent, we make coaching available to team members during steep growth journeys and we have twice yearly promotion opportunities. People who are really successful here own it and go directly to solve problems at pace and we ensure reward increases with impact.

- Comprehensive Benefits: We've built a benefits package people value. That means competitive salary, equity, and private healthcare with no medical history exclusions so strong that means most employees' family members opt into our plan over their own. We also offer Carrot Fertility with IVF stipend, salary sacrifice pension, bike to work scheme, life insurance, and more.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
