The posting

Basware is the clear market leader in Invoice Lifecycle Management, trusted by over 6,000 global customers and recognized #1 by Gartner, Forrester, and IDC. We revolutionized how the world’s largest organizations manage and automate AP, processing more than $10 trillion in invoices with unmatched accuracy, compliance, and control. If you’re inspired by innovation, growth, and a value‑driven culture, this is your chance to help shape the future of finance.

We are looking for an experienced Paid Media Manager (B2B SaaS) to join our Marketing team on a contractor basis and take end-to-end ownership of Basware's global paid media channels during a maternity cover period.

This is a hands-on, operationally focused role responsible for planning, executing and optimising paid media activity across LinkedIn and a wider mix of digital media partners and channels. The role will ensure activity is audience-led, aligned to Basware's Ideal Customer Profile and contributes to lead, MQL, pipeline and growth targets across 11 global markets.

You will manage campaigns throughout their full lifecycle, from briefing, audience development and creative production through to launch, budget management, optimisation and reporting. You will also manage relationships with external media vendors, coordinating proposals and local and regional needs, and ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on brand, on brief and on budget.

The successful candidate will combine strong paid media expertise with excellent project management, copywriting and analytical skills. They must be comfortable working independently in the detail while collaborating across global Campaigns, Regional Marketing, Content, Brand, Marketing Operations and Sales.

They will take a proactive approach to using AI and emerging paid media technologies to improve the speed, efficiency and effectiveness of campaign delivery, creative development, optimisation and reporting, while keeping up to date with evolving platform capabilities and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

1. Paid Media Campaign Management & Execution

  • Own the day-to-day management of Basware's global paid media activity, with a particular focus on LinkedIn Campaign Manager, including campaign setup and delivery, budget management and pacing, performance monitoring and optimisation, audience targeting, creative development and refreshes, tracking and reporting.
  • Build, launch and manage campaigns with other advertising platforms and vendors, including campaign structure, audience setup, creative implementation, links, tracking and testing.
  • Monitor live activity and identify opportunities to improve targeting, creative, budget allocation and overall campaign performance.
  • Use AI-assisted platform capabilities, including LinkedIn Accelerate where appropriate, to support campaign creation, audience development, bidding and optimisation, while maintaining clear human oversight and agreed brand and budget controls.
  • Ensure campaigns support Basware's global strategy, Ideal Customer Profile and relevant regional market requirements.
  • Manage paid social, display, retargeting, affiliate, programmatic, intent display and other relevant digital media opportunities as required.

2. Budget, Tracking & Governance

  • Manage daily campaign spend and pacing against agreed monthly and quarterly budgets, identifying risks and recommending reallocations based on performance and business priorities.
  • Maintain accurate campaign, budget and performance records, including planned and actual spend, budget variance, and records of live, paused and newly launched creative.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation processes, including platform invoices, budget records, invoice submission, purchase orders and necessary financial approvals.
  • Build and maintain tracking links, naming conventions, GTM records, campaign documentation, creative libraries and screenshot decks, in line with agreed governance processes.

3. Campaign Content & Creative

  • Manage the paid media briefing and production process, from initial campaign requirement through to launch.
  • Translate complex content, including reports, whitepapers and campaign materials, into clear and engaging advertising messages.
  • Develop paid media copy and messaging using campaign assets, audience insights and core value propositions, working with in-house Brand, Design and Content teams.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate campaign and creative refreshes, develop and test copy variations, support localisation and adapt messaging for different audiences and markets, while ensuring all outputs are reviewed for accuracy, quality and brand alignment.
  • Support the development of local-language advertising, coordinating translation and in-market review where required.

4. Reporting, Optimisation & Performance Insight

  • Work closely with Marketing Operations to ensure external platform data and reporting are aligned with internal processes and the wider basware.com customer journey, and to identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting.
  • Use first-party account, contact and intent data, supported by AI where appropriate, to build and refresh audience segments, prioritise in-market accounts, develop more segmented approaches and improve the effectiveness of media investment.
  • Own monthly and quarterly paid media reporting for global campaign teams and regional stakeholders, translating campaign data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Continuously review paid media performance and identify opportunities to improve audience targeting, engagement, conversion and media efficiency, providing updates on risks and optimisation priorities.
  • Use AI-assisted analysis and reporting to identify performance trends, anomalies, risks and optimisation opportunities more quickly, turning campaign data into clear, actionable recommendations rather than reporting numbers alone.
  • Develop a structured testing plan covering new channels, campaign formats, audiences, creative approaches and messaging, and apply learnings consistently across campaigns and markets rather than treating tests as isolated activities.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external media vendors, publications and platform partners across the full campaign lifecycle, including proposal evaluation, briefing, creative delivery, tracking, execution and performance reporting.
  • Manage the operational administration required for external media activity, including purchase orders, approvals, invoice coordination, vendor onboarding and campaign documentation.
  • Partner closely with Global Campaigns, Regional Marketing, Proposition Marketing, Content, Brand, Marketing Operations, BDR and Sales teams to deliver a joined-up demand generation approach.
  • Manage ad hoc regional and global requests, prioritising activity based on campaign objectives, available budget and expected impact, while communicating priorities, dependencies and next steps clearly.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience in paid social media management at agency or in-house, with a focus on B2B environment.
  • Bachelor's in marketing, Communications, Digital, Advertising, Business or a relevant combination of education and work experience.
  • Hands-on experience building and optimising campaigns within LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Experience across paid social, display, retargeting, affiliate, programmatic or comparable digital media channels, including the use of intent or IP-based media platforms.
  • Experience managing global campaigns across multiple markets and languages.
  • Proven ability to manage campaigns throughout their full lifecycle, from planning and briefing to launch, optimisation and reporting.
  • Strong copywriting skills and experience translating campaign assets into effective advertising messages.
  • Experience managing budgets in-platform, spend pacing, invoice reconciliation and external vendors.
  • Strong understanding of audience targeting, account-based marketing and the B2B prospect and customer lifecycle.
  • Understanding of data privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR) when handling contact and intent data across international markets.
  • Experience working with Marketing Operations, Sales, regional teams and cross-functional marketing stakeholders.
  • Media agency experience, or experience working closely with media agencies and third-party partners, would be beneficial.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
  • Working knowledge of at least one other major paid platform (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager) and/or exposure to programmatic or DSP platforms.
  • Experience with digital campaign tracking, UTM parameters and campaign naming conventions.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to speed up campaign analysis, reporting and optimisation.
  • Confidence working with data from multiple advertising platforms and vendor reports.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Ability to analyse campaign data and turn findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Intent platform experience is a plus.

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
