What We Are Looking For The Athletic Trainer serves in the Division of Athletics and reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Medicine. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the medical and rehabilitation programs and needs of student-athletes participating in Baylor University’s Athletics teams.

A Master's degree is required along with experience with providing care for NCAA Student-Athletes. National Athletic Training Certification is required. Texas Athletic Training License is required however can be obtained after employment offer is accepted.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full time basis.

What Will You Do

  • Provide medical care to athletes at practice, training, and competition events. Administer treatment under the supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Athletic Medicine and Team Physician
  • The athletic trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive athletic medicine services within the scope of practice
  • Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, coaches, team physicians, and administration on progress of student athletes. Maintain proper documentation in accordance with governing regulations
  • Assist in maintaining and proper use of athletic training facilities to create an efficient and safe working environment
  • Assist with the management of the student athletic training education program
  • Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
