Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the Sr. Core Buyer plays a key role in procuring solar equipment—including new and used solar panels, inverters, and related components—to support TERREPOWER’s trading and lifecycle business.

This position requires a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying supply opportunities across both traditional and non-traditional channels. The Sr. Core Buyer is responsible for developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring a consistent and reliable supply in a fast-paced, dynamic marketplace.

The role collaborates closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business goals and market conditions.

  • Source and purchase solar panels, inverters, and related equipment (both new and used)
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong supplier relationships, including expanding the vendor base
  • Issue RFQs, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure competitive supply agreements
  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process including requisitions, purchase orders, and order tracking
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery through proactive follow-up
  • Maintain accurate pricing, purchasing, and supplier data within ERP systems
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving and sourcing opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and finance to align procurement with demand
  • Ensure inventory levels align with business needs through planning and analysis
  • Maintain data accuracy including item setup, attributes, and transaction records
  • Assist in resolving supplier issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with TERREPOWER procurement policies and procedures

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in an office environment, with regular on-site attendance in Houston, TX. Ability to travel occasionally (e.g., tradeshows) as required by business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive results
  • Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
