The posting

At BBH, Partnership is more than a form of ownership—it’s our approach to business and relationships. We know that supporting your professional and personal goals is the best way to help our clients and advance our business. We take that responsibility seriously. With a 200-year legacy and a shared passion for what’s next, this is the right place to build a fulfilling career.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Build specialist knowledge. Connect across borders. Develop a career in global client service.

This role brings together client relationships, financial expertise, and international collaboration. Starting in the Tokyo Client Service Income team, this position supports Japanese trust bank while working with colleagues across BBH’s global network.

Through inquiries relating to dividends, interest payments, and associated tax matters, the role offers opportunities to turn complex questions into clear answers, help clients resolve challenges, and contribute ideas that improve day-to-day service. Working alongside experienced colleagues, this position develops both technical expertise and the confidence to navigate client needs.

Prior Income servicing experience is not required. What matters most is curiosity, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take ownership.

Working alongside experienced professionals, this role provides an opportunity to build a strong foundation in global custody and asset servicing while bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to a collaborative team environment. The experience gained provides a foundation for broader opportunities across Client Service, including potential moves into other service areas, depending on individual interests, development, and business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Service and Problem-Solving

-Help clients navigate Income-related questions through clear, accurate, and timely communication.

-Work with internal teams and overseas colleagues to investigate issues and follow through to resolution.

-Manage competing priorities, escalate issues appropriately, and keep stakeholders informed.

-Prepare client reports and contribute to client discussions.

Collaboration and Improvement

-Build constructive relationships with clients and colleagues across locations.

-Bring curiosity and fresh ideas to improve workflows, using technology to support effective service.

Risk Awareness and Ownership

-Deliver work with care, accuracy, and attention to deadlines, following established procedures and controls.

-Maintain clear records and promptly escalate discrepancies, missing information, and potential risks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

-Experience in client service, operational coordination, or issue resolution within financial services or another professional environment.

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

-Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and ownership of tasks through to completion.

-Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple inquiries, reporting tasks, and competing priorities in an accurate and timely manner

-Strong Japanese communication skills and business-level English proficiency, both written and verbal.

Preferred, but Not Required:

-Experience in financial services or familiarity with global custody, investment income, or corporate actions.

We value diverse experiences. We value diverse experiences and transferrable skillsets. If your career hasn’t followed a traditional path, includes alternative experiences, or doesn’t meet every qualification or skill listed in the job description, please do go ahead and apply.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
