The posting

Director, Tax & Wealth Strategy

BBR Partners is a premiere, boutique wealth management firm providing investment and wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals and families. The firm, originally founded in early 2000, now manages over $35 billion for families with a minimum of $50mm of investible assets.

BBR Partners’ Wealth Strategies team serves as a centralized, specialized resource to help ensure clients receive thoughtful, coordinated, and forward-looking advice across their most consequential financial decisions. The team is grounded in a strong foundation of tax-aware planning, recognizing that tax considerations are a key driver of many complex wealth decisions and an essential lens through which broader strategies are evaluated.

Within that framework, BBR takes a holistic, family office-style approach—supporting clients and advisors across a wide range of interconnected issues, including trust and estate planning, insurance and risk management, lending and liquidity, and coordination with external advisors.

We are seeking a Director, Tax & Wealth Strategy to serve as a wealth strategist, reporting to the Head of Wealth Strategies, with primary responsibility for tax planning and related strategic planning matters affecting ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. This individual will partner closely with advisors across the firm, participate directly in client engagements, and help shape the continued development of BBR's Wealth Strategies platform. • Elevate the consistency, sophistication, and quality of planning delivered throughout the firm.
  • Partner closely with Client Advisors to identify opportunities, evaluate alternatives, develop planning strategies and prepare for client engagements
  • Review and analyze client tax returns and planning documents to identify key considerations, tradeoffs, and risks.
  • Help establish best practices, frameworks, and standards for planning delivered across client relationships.

Direct Client & Prospect Engagement

  • Help define and expand BBR's tax planning capabilities and service offering, advising on sophisticated planning matters including: individual income tax planning and trust and estate income taxation, with exposure to business-owner and liquidity-event planning, cross border tax considerations and insurance, lending and liquidity strategies.
  • Translate complex technical issues into practical recommendations and actionable guidance.
  • Develop scalable planning frameworks, tools and client deliverables.
  • Help demonstrate BBR's planning and family office capabilities to prospects and referral sources.
  • Support proposal development and responses to complex planning inquiries.
  • Where appropriate, participate directly in client and prospective client meetings as a senior planning resource and coordinate implementation efforts among clients and their external advisors.

External Advisor Relationship Management

  • Curate and strengthen BBR's network of preferred providers for clients.
  • Manage client referral requests and assist advisors in identifying appropriate external resources and specialists.
  • Represent BBR within the professional advisor community and stay current on the latest planning techniques.
  • Create and author tailored planning content for an UHNW audience.

Internal Education, Thought Leadership & Platform Development

  • Serve as a technical resource and educator to advisors and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with our internal learning and development team to develop and deliver internal training programs.
  • Author planning insights, white papers, educational materials and thought leadership content.
  • Identify and ensure advisors remain current on significant tax and legislative developments, emerging planning opportunities and industry trends affecting clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, Master's in Taxation, JD/LL.M., or similar advanced credentials.
  • 10+ years of experience advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
