The posting

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), which now includes Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Los Angeles.

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA.

The Opportunity

An opportunity for a driven project management professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys collaborating with innovative clients and project teams, and is motivated to deliver complex facilities and real estate projects that enable growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

At Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities—where people live, learn, work, and innovate. B&D partners with institutions, municipalities, and organizations to deliver complex real estate and capital projects through strategic advisory and program management services across the full project lifecycle.

B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors (PMA), bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and end-to-end project delivery—from early-stage strategy through design, construction, and occupancy.

As a Project Manager, you will lead planning, design, and construction activities for complex development and capital projects, working closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and public agencies. Projects may include site and infrastructure improvements, park and public realm development, and new building construction. You will help navigate entitlement and approval processes, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and drive projects from early planning through successful delivery.

How You'll Contribute

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Manage planning, design, and construction activities for technology and corporate real estate projects
  • Review and evaluate project requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives and client goals
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools
  • Analyze project costs, schedules, and risks to support informed decision-making
  • Coordinate procurement of design, construction, and consultant services
  • Support contract development, negotiation, review, and administration
  • Oversee the development and review of architectural and engineering drawings and bid documents
  • Facilitate project meetings, document action items, and drive accountability across stakeholders
  • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and local agencies to communicate project status and resolve issues
  • Evaluate potential budget and schedule impacts and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Lead value engineering discussions and review alternative solutions with project teams
  • Coordinate specialty consultants and peer reviews as required
  • Provide guidance and support to Assistant Project Managers and junior team members
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, schedules, and quality standards
  • Support contract issuance, purchase orders, and progress payment reviews
  • Observe and report on construction progress, risks, and field conditions
  • Manage project closeout activities and successful turnover to clients
  • Participate in business development initiatives, networking opportunities, proposals, and client presentations

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of project management, development, or construction management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects while meeting client expectations, schedules, and budgets
  • Experience managing the delivery of complex facilities or real estate projects, particularly with large ground up development or campus development
  • Strong understanding of design, construction, and project management processes
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and project controls
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering documentation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, client-focused environment

What Sets You Apart

  • You are a proactive self-starter who takes ownership and drives results
  • You excel at building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • You bring strong emotional intelligence and communication skills to every interaction
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented when managing complex projects
  • You approach challenges with curiosity, creativity, and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and can adapt to changing priorities
  • You demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment
  • You are motivated by helping clients create innovative environments that support growth and success
  • You are interested in mentoring others and contributing to the growth of the team

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
