Job Description

Job Summary

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing and improving domestic and international logistics performance across all transportation modes. This role uses data and reporting to identify opportunities to improve cost, service, and transit time while supporting the organization's broader logistics strategy.

The Logistics Analyst develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), maintains freight rate data, supports logistics provider performance management, assists with product and component classification, and partners with Procurement, Implementation, and other internal teams to support operational and customer delivery objectives.

Success in this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, adaptability, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain standard reports, scorecards, and KPIs to measure logistics performance and identify opportunities to improve cost, service, efficiency, and transit time.
  • Support the organization's logistics strategy by evaluating the performance and cost effectiveness of logistics providers and assisting in determining the appropriate provider mix.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with logistics providers and communicate performance results and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain freight rate databases and perform rate, cost, and invoice analysis.
  • Work with logistics providers to resolve service, performance, cost, invoice, and claims-related issues.
  • Support the appropriate classification of components and products to help minimize the impact of duties and tariffs.
  • Maintain documentation of logistics procedures related to reporting, analysis, and communications.
  • Collaborate with process owners to identify and implement logistics process improvements.
  • Conduct periodic requests for proposal (RFPs) to support logistics and transportation needs.
  • Provide tactical support for expedited transportation requirements, balancing delivery targets with associated costs.
  • Analyze logistics data and performance trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with Implementation and other internal teams to support on-time, issue-free projects at customer locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field, with 2–4 years of experience in global trade, export operations, or international logistics; or, in lieu of a degree, 5–7 years of relevant logistics experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently identify opportunities through data, reporting, and analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and functions/concepts such as IF/THEN, SUMIF, tables, and VLOOKUP.
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM certification.
  • Experience using Great Plains.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
