Job Description
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 5:45 PM - 5:45 AM with every other weekend off
Join BD as a Maintenance Technician and play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this hands-on role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve production equipment while working closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to support production goals.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment issues
- Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Repair and replace machine components to minimize downtime
- Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and production support
- Perform equipment adjustments, testing, and fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation
- Support preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train and support operators on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
- Participate in 5S, safety, and continuous improvement activities
- Help drive equipment reliability, uptime, and overall production performance
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- 1-4 years of experience repairing industrial equipment, machinery, or high-speed manufacturing equipment preferred
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow safety procedures and manufacturing standards
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Work Environment
- Clean manufacturing environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment interaction throughout the shift
- Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair covering, and other protective equipment as needed
- Exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, and varying manufacturing conditions
