Role Overview:
The Field Installation Manager owns day to day installation execution at Bee Window, covering windows, doors, bath systems, and siding, from job ready handoff through final walkthrough. This role is accountable for every job being installed on schedule, to manufacturer specification, and to the quality standard homeowners expect, protecting Bee Window's quality standards, manufacturer warranties, customer satisfaction, and reputation.
This role reports directly to the VP of Operations and is the field's main link between the office, including sales, operations, and the warehouse, and the crews on site. The Field Installation Manager deploys approximately 24 In house W2 and subcontractor installers across the entire state of Indiana into southwest Michigan, inspects work in progress and at completion, resolves scheduling and material issues, and tracks the field metrics leadership uses to run the business.
Responsibilities:
- This role oversees approximately 24 installation crews, both W-2 and 1099, completing approximately 38 jobs per week.
- Review upcoming jobs for scope accuracy, measurements, materials, permits, site conditions, access, staffing needs, and special installation requirements before crews are dispatched.
- Coordinate with sales, operations, measure/inspection, warehouse, service, and scheduling teams to ensure jobs are installation-ready and avoid preventable delays, return trips, and customer reschedules.
- Monitor multiple active job sites each day; resolve crew, material, scope, scheduling, and customer issues promptly.
- Perform in-progress and final quality-control inspections for windows, entry doors, patio doors, bath systems, and siding work, as assigned.
- Verify that installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer instructions, applicable building codes, permit requirements, and warranty conditions.
- Identify, document, assign, and follow through on installation defects, punch-list items, callbacks, rework, product damage, and warranty-related concerns.
- Lead, train, coach, and hold crew leads, installers, and subcontractors accountable for workmanship, productivity, safety, attendance, job-site cleanliness, and homeowner communication.
- Ensure proper home-protection procedures, material handling, ladder safety, PPE use, vehicle safety, and job-site housekeeping.
- Communicate job assignments, scope changes, customer expectations, and special conditions to crews before work begins.
- Address customer questions and installation concerns professionally; escalate significant issues when appropriate and ensure timely follow-up.
- Track installation performance, including completed jobs, on-time performance, callback and rework rates, quality-control results, crew productivity, and customer satisfaction trends.
- Use company systems to maintain accurate job notes, photos, inspection records, punch lists, material requests, and job-completion status.
- Recommend process improvements that improve installation quality, reduce callbacks, protect production capacity, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
- Participate in crew hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and staffing planning.
Role Requirements:
- Five or more years of residential construction, remodeling, exterior renovation, or home-improvement installation experience
- Prior supervisory experience managing installation crews or subcontractors.
- Experience with residential window and door installation is strongly preferred.
- Experience a plus but not overseeing bath, siding, roofing, remodeling, or other multi-trade residential projects is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose installation defects, water-intrusion risks, product-fit issues, site-condition conflicts, and finish-quality concerns.
- Proficiency using smartphones, tablets, job-management software, email, and digital photo documentation.
- Ability to read work orders, measurements, installation instructions, job-site diagrams, and scope-of-work documents.
- Working knowledge of installation best practices, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes and permitting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple job sites and crews at the same time without losing control of schedule or quality.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across sales, warehouse, crews, and homeowners.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between job sites daily within the assigned territory.
- Ability to visit active installation sites in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, access rooftops and upper floors, and inspect installations at height.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including materials, tools, and product samples, as needed.
Logistics:
- Reports to the VP of Operations.
- Full time position based out of the Bee Window office in Fishers, IN.
- Daily travel to active installation sites across Northern and Central Indiana.
- Field driven schedule that follows the install calendar, with early starts as jobs require.
- Compensation: $95,000 to $105,000 annually, based on experience, plus an annual percentage bonus.
