Events give guests a new way to meet ÅBEN. Whether it’s a spontaneous quiz night or a planned company celebration, it’s about inviting guests into the universe and giving them an experience they’ll remember.
We are looking for a sales-driven and hands-on Event Manager who will take responsibility for developing the events area into a stronger part of the bars, from proactive sales and idea development to planning and execution. Success is about bringing more guests into the bars and strengthening revenue through events and private bookings.
Your responsibilities You will be part of Operations and report to the Bar Operations Manager. You will be working closely with the individual Bar Managers and the Event Coordinator for Kødbyen on a daily basis. The position is anchored in the bars and on the events that are part of everyday life at ÅBEN, both commercial bookings and the public, recurring formats. Brand and partnership events are run by Marketing, but you will work closely with the team to develop and sharpen them. You will also stay in close dialogue with Marketing, so that all formats live up to ÅBEN’s values: creating joy through experiences, daring to walk our own path, making an effort, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Event Manager is a new role, which gives you the opportunity to shape it from the very beginning. This means a responsibility to create structure and direction, and the freedom to test new ideas and shape how events work across the bars. Your responsibilities cover a wide range:
- Proactive sales and day-to-day dialogue with both private guests and companies.
- Project management from first enquiry to final follow-up, including pricing, budgets, planning and review.
- Development of new concepts and recurring formats that fit the bars and turn first-time guests into regulars.
- Optimising sales channels, booking sites and internal processes to make the most of the bars’ capacity.
- Synergy and shared standards across the bars, with room to find what works for each individual bar.
- Presence at larger events to ensure quality and support the bar staff.
Who are you? We expect you to thrive in a fast-paced environment with an informal tone and a flat structure. You have a strong eye for the big picture, naturally take the lead and can balance structure at the desk with presence on the floor. We imagine that you:
- Have at least 3 years of experience with sales, planning and running events, preferably from the restaurant, hotel or entertainment industry.
- Have a good commercial understanding and find it motivating to work with sales targets, budgets and getting the most out of every bar.
- Are a strong communicator and relationship builder who works effortlessly with both guests and bar staff.
- Understand or are interested in ÅBEN’s brand and can turn the values into concrete guest experiences.
- Thrive in a flexible day-to-day and are comfortable lending a hand in operations when things get busy.

The position is full-time, and you will be based at the office in Kødbyen, with presence at the other bars when needed. Events typically take place in the evenings and at weekends, so some flexibility comes with the job.
