Paraprofessional Sub
Location: Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MI 49127
A Sub Paraprofessional will have the opportunity to accept jobs from each Lakeshore building, working the days or half days that fit their schedule.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Advanced training in a field related to child care and/or a minimum of two years of experience as an aide or equivalent experience preferred
- Competent in the following areas: communication skills, organization, and in establishing excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and students
Possible Duties:
- Working in multiple classrooms (per building) to assist students and teachers
- Effectively participate in building activities
- Assist in implementation of instructional support and training activities with students under the direction of the teacher
- Be responsible for the supervision & direction of students including lunch and recess time
- Help maintain instructional area, supplies, equipment & facilities in a clean/safe condition Includes cleaning/disinfecting the classroom environment
- Assist teachers and support staff in preparing materials, housekeeping, recordkeeping & data collection relative to student progress
- Provide instruction and training on an individual student basis, in a small group or one-to-one tutorial instruction
- Participate in special instructional activities to meet program and student goals (e.g. loading/unloading buses, physical education, etc.)
- Willing to assist with medical procedures. Understand and be aware of medical needs of students
- Follow established policies/procedures (e.g. medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plan, etc.)
- Maintain confidentiality
- Regular and predictable attendance
- All other duties as assigned
