The posting

The Design function for the Gaming vertical (including Games of Chance, Poker, and Gamification) for product design direction and ownership of gaming-specific visual content governance.

The Wow

As the Head of Product Design, you will form part of the senior leadership team in the product organization, being responsible for the Gaming Design function. Your goal will be to enable and support the Gaming product teams in creating products and experiences that will delight our customers, with the authority to set design standards and solutions for others to follow. Moreover, you will be expected to be a key contributor on key Gaming product initiatives and inspire the rest of the organization in building great products and experiences. You will also hold ownership for the governance of gaming-specific visual content quality, including where execution is carried out by other teams. Although this is a management role, you will still be expected to be a hands-on member of the team.

A taster of what you will be involved with:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire your team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration and innovation.
  • Lead the design team for a product domain, taking overall accountability for their performance and the quality of their work.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, internal users, and products, both within yourself and within the team.
  • Ensure the structure of your team is well-defined and optimized for its purpose.
  • Organize and oversee the work of the team in alignment with the product roadmap and goals.
  • Provide recommendations and support to foster, grow and retain UX talent across the organization.
  • Work closely with Research, Insights, and Data to make evidence-based design decisions.
  • Own the implementation of the area’s UX/UI, maintaining excellence and consistency across the products and content.
  • Own and govern products-specific imagery and content quality, defining review and approval processes, so that assets produced by other teams (e.g. game studio materials, suppliers, marketing) meet brand and product standards before release.
  • Collaborate closely with the Branding team to ensure content aligns with the product strategy.
  • Be responsible for the information architecture of our products.
  • Own design for the Backoffice tools built to help maintain and operate our product offering.
  • Work closely with Product Management to enable and influence the products’ development roadmaps.
  • Take an active role on complex and strategic initiatives, providing expert guidance and support from a product design perspective.
  • Define and champion user centric design strategies and best practices across the Gaming organization.
  • Drive new thinking in the organization and stay well informed on the latest user experience and gaming trends.
  • Develop a strong understanding of user journeys and customer experience throughout the product organization.
  • Map, research and analyze user journeys to oversee the user experience for the product domain and drive iterative improvements.
  • Continuously review the live product to identify areas for improvement and any deviations from the expected experience.
  • Build effective working relationships across the organization, serving as a main point of contact and subject matter expert for product design.
  • Collaborate closely across all product development areas to ensure UX/UI, common elements of the experience, and visual assets remain consistent across platforms.
  • Collaborate frequently and closely with design leads working with other product domains to share best practices, drive cross-product initiatives, and ensure consistency in user interface design and user journeys.
  • Collaborate closely with the Central design team on design system matters, ensuring area's UI patterns and components stay aligned with central design system, standards and principles.
  • Stay open and fluent in modern technologies — such as but not exclusive to Generative AI, Machine Learning and workflow automation — and identify where they can be applied to improve product design, content production and backoffice capability.
  • Assist and support the senior product leaders (Heads, Directors, and/or equivalent) in any matters that may arise from time to time.
  • Contribute to product direction through active involvement in evolving and executing the product strategy and vision.

What we are looking for

  • Highly experienced in product design (5+ years) for web products serving desktop and mobile devices, covering both responsive and adaptive design.
  • A portfolio that showcases your design work, thought process, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with industry standard software such as Figma (preferred), Sketch and/or Adobe XD to produce, test, explore and share design solutions.
  • Experience in leading and building a high performing design team.
  • Validated expertise in usability, analytics, user testing, information architecture, user journey mapping / optimisation, content strategy, and prototyping.
  • Experience working with a design system or pattern design library.
  • A relevant academic degree or qualifications would be considered a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
