Job Description

The Sr. Procurement Specialist is a key and essential supply chain role responsible for leading strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and complex project procurement execution across North America. This position serves as a primary procurement lead across Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Shipping, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure material and service requirements are aligned, sourced effectively, and delivered in support of customer commitments, project timelines, and business objectives. The role requires strong commercial judgment, independent decision-making, and cross-functional influence, along with the ability to drive cost optimization, supplier accountability, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing, Planning & Procurement Execution:

  • Own procurement planning and sourcing strategy for dedicated projects in close partnership with Project Management and relevant business stakeholders.
  • Lead bid development, supplier engagement, commercial evaluation, negotiation support, and purchasing execution to ensure goods and services are procured in alignment with project scope, schedule, quality expectations, total cost considerations, and overall business priorities, including complex and critical-path requirements.

Supplier Performance, Risk Management & Commercial Support:

  • Lead supplier identification, qualification, and bid package development while establishing strong commercial foundations through contract support, supplier performance management, sourcing strategy execution, and proactive risk identification.
  • Drive resolution of supplier and contract-related issues, influence stakeholders on commercially sound decisions, and escalate risks early to improve procurement outcomes, protect project continuity, and reduce operational and contractual exposure.

Governance, Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive consistent application of procurement standards, category strategies, and sourcing workflows across projects and purchasing activities.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of procurement plans, purchase orders, amendments, and related documentation while reinforcing compliance, process transparency, and disciplined execution. Identify opportunities to improve supplier governance, procurement efficiency, and overall operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Business Support:

  • Influence alignment across Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Shipping, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to prioritize procurement actions, resolve issues proactively, and support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted procurement partner on dedicated capital projects by ensuring procurement activities are coordinated, well-communicated, and responsive to project and business needs, while reinforcing execution discipline and continuity across related supply chain activity.

Compensation range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 Annually

The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
