Working under the direction of the Occupational Therapy Department Head, you will help deliver meaningful occupational therapy programming for students ages 3–22 with diverse developmental, physical, sensory, and communication needs.

You will lead structured, engaging groups designed to address students’ occupational therapy goals, adapt activities to meet individual needs, and support the generalization of skills across classroom routines and daily activities. You will collaborate with occupational therapists and classroom staff to help students build functional skills, independence, participation, and confidence.

Our interdisciplinary teams work together to provide individualized, accessible programming that recognizes each student’s strengths, interests, and support needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead occupational therapy groups that address fine motor, sensory-motor, visual-motor, self-care, functional independence, and other identified student needs • Provide individual occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist • Adapt activities, materials, and strategies to support students’ developmental, physical, sensory, and communication needs • Collaborate with occupational therapists, classroom teachers, and related-service providers to reinforce therapeutic strategies across educational settings • Consult with classroom teams regarding activities, environmental adaptations, and approaches that promote student participation and independence • Collect, maintain, and document data on student participation and progress toward established goals and objectives • Prepare therapeutic materials and organize and schedule group activities and individual sessions • Participate in collaborative team meetings, professional development, and ongoing program planning • Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment aligned with CCCBSD’s mission and core values

What We’re Looking For

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Therapy Assistant studies or an equivalent qualifying program required • Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Assistant license required • Current NBCOT certification required • Experience working with children or young adults in a pediatric, school-based, or related therapeutic setting preferred • Experience leading groups, facilitating structured activities, or supporting group-based programming preferred • Ability to adapt therapeutic activities to meet the needs of students with diverse developmental, physical, sensory, and communication needs • Strong organizational, collaboration, communication, and data-collection skills • Coursework or experience in Occupational Therapy, Deaf Education, Special Education, Assistive Technology, Pediatric Therapy, or Early Childhood preferred • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) preferred; willingness to develop ASL skills and support accessible communication required

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
