The posting

BeyondTrust is a place where you can bring your purpose to life through the work that you do, creating a safer world through our cybersecurity SaaS portfolio.

Our culture of flexibility, trust, and continual learning means you will be recognized for your growth, and for the impact you make on our success. You will be surrounded by people who challenge, support, and inspire you to be the best version of yourself.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced FP&A business partner to support our CTO and Engineering organization, as well as our CCO organization, including Professional Services, Support, Training, and Customer Success. This is a Manager-level individual contributor role spanning R&D investment and the direct and indirect costs of delivering and supporting our products.

Our approach to FP&A is simple: understand what happened, determine why it matters, and help the business decide what to do next.

Cloud infrastructure economics is central to this role. We want to go significantly deeper than understanding total infrastructure spend or explaining variances. This person will partner closely with Engineering and Tech/FinOps to develop visibility into how architecture, products, customers, usage patterns, capacity, and technical decisions translate into cost and gross margin, and identify opportunities to improve those economics over time.

The role will also support productivity and operating-leverage analysis across R&D and the CCO organization, connecting investment and capacity to business outcomes and scalability.

What You’ll Do

Business partnering

CTO / Engineering / R&D

  • Serve as a key finance partner to the CTO and Engineering organization, bringing financial and operational insight to R&D investment, resource allocation, productivity, and decision-making.
  • Drive deeper understanding of cloud infrastructure economics, partnering with Engineering and Tech/FinOps to connect product and customer usage, architecture, capacity, and consumption to unit economics and gross margin, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Bring a productivity lens to R&D investment, helping leaders understand how resources and capacity are deployed, what outcomes they support, and where operating leverage can improve.
  • Develop business cases and scenario analyses that inform investment priorities and technical and operating decisions.

CCO

  • Partner with CCO leadership across Professional Services, Support, Training, and Customer Success.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the operational drivers of Services margin, capacity, utilization, staffing mix, and cost to serve.
  • Bring a productivity lens across customer-facing teams, connecting resources and capacity to business and customer outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and operating leverage while balancing customer needs.

FP&A & performance management

  • Own the budget, forecast, and performance outlook across the supported organizations, ensuring Finance has a clear and reliable view of results, risks, and opportunities.
  • Connect business activity and operational drivers to financial outcomes, including gross margin, cost to serve, and R&D investment.
  • Contribute to product P&Ls and product-level profitability views by connecting R&D investment, infrastructure costs, and customer-delivery costs to product economics.
  • Bring insights from the business back into the broader FP&A organization, helping inform company-level forecasts, planning, and management reporting.
  • Explain performance drivers, assess their implications, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Continuously improve models, data, and processes so more time can be spent on analysis and decision

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated, hands-on depth in SaaS cloud infrastructure economics, including consumption drivers, unit economics, scalability, and gross-margin implications.
  • Approximately 5–8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, finance analytics, FinOps, or a related field.
  • Experience in a $300M–$1B PE-backed or pre-IPO enterprise B2B SaaS company, or a highly comparable environment.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Technology, Product, or Tech/FinOps leaders.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS gross margin and cost-to-serve economics.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to work through complex or imperfect operational data.
  • Ability to independently move from analysis to insight to a clear point of view and recommendation.
  • Technical curiosity and enough fluency to engage credibly with Engineering and keep digging beyond the first explanation.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders in an individual contributor capacity.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
