Are you a skilled analyst who excels at translating complex data into clear, impactful recommendations? Our client is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to partner closely with the commercial team, providing critical insights that influence key business initiatives. If you are passionate about combining data expertise with commercial acumen, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyse complex commercial and customer data to generate actionable insights that drive business decisions and support the commercial team.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Databricks, and other analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team and UK analytics counterparts on both local and global projects.
  • Lead and mentor a junior analyst, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Deliver timely, high-impact analysis prioritizing speed and practical outcomes over perfection.
  • Translate data findings into clear, business-aligned recommendations that influence strategy and operational improvements.
  • Manage and optimize partner scorecards and related commercial analytics tools, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Act as a business partner within the leadership team, contributing to the overall success and delivery of the South Africa analytics mission.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis or analytics, ideally with exposure to commercial or financial services environments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience working with Databricks is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools
  • Ability to extract, manipulate, and interpret complex data sets to deliver clear, actionable commercial insights.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior analysts is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with lending, credit scoring, or financial services data is advantageous but not essential.
  • Practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and prioritize fast, impactful results.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into business-relevant insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability to a hybrid work environment with flexible hours and a focus on team culture and fit.
