About the Role:

We are looking for a highly responsible and hands-on Senior Executive – Finance & Accounts to take ownership of the company's day-to-day finance and accounting operations.

This is not a routine bookkeeping role. The selected candidate will be expected to independently manage accounting, receivables, payables, cash-flow monitoring, GST/TDS coordination, payroll coordination, MIS reporting, budgeting and financial analysis, while working closely with the CEO, management team and external Chartered Accountant.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to understand the business behind the numbers and provide management with accurate, timely and actionable financial information.

The role offers an opportunity to grow into an Assistant Manager / Finance Manager / Financial Controller position as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & MIS

  • Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports. Prepare management MIS and highlight key financial trends and concerns. Track revenue, expenses, profitability and cash position. Prepare project/client-wise profitability reports. Support management in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Analyse actual performance against budgets and forecasts.

2. Cash Flow & Working Capital

  • Prepare and maintain rolling 3–6 month cash-flow forecasts. Monitor receivables, payables and working capital. Track customer outstanding and ensure timely collections. Monitor upcoming statutory, payroll and supplier payments. Provide management with early warnings on cash-flow risks.

3. Accounts & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and monthly closing. Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.
  • Manage GST, TDS, payroll related compliance and statutory requirements in coordination with the external CA.Coordinate with auditors, bankers and statutory consultants. Ensure timely completion of monthly and annual financial closing.

4. Receivables & Payables

  • Maintain detailed Accounts Receivable ageing. Coordinate with the operations/business team for collections. Follow up on overdue invoices and escalate collection risks. Manage vendor payments and Accounts Payable. Maintain appropriate payment priorities based on cash-flow requirements.

5. Management Support

  • Provide financial analysis to support business decisions. Evaluate the financial impact of new projects, hiring and major expenses. Support pricing and commercial decisions with cost/profitability analysis. Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce unnecessary costs. Prepare financial information required for management reviews.

6. Financial Controls

  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal financial controls. Ensure proper approval processes for expenses and payments. Monitor company spending against approved budgets. Identify financial risks, leakages and control gaps. Maintain proper documentation and financial records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field. 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance. Strong experience in SME / professional services / IT / engineering / outsourcing businesses preferred. Strong knowledge of Indian accounting, GST and TDS. Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills. Experience with Tally, Zoho Books or other accounting/ERP systems. Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership. Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CA Inter / CMA Inter / ACCA / M. Com is an advantage. Experience handling foreign-currency transactions and international clients. Experience with UK / UAE / international service businesses is an advantage. Experience in project-based or resource-based businesses is preferred.
