Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and continuously evolve core backend systems for Social products.
  • Improve system performance, stability, availability, and overall technical quality.
  • Develop a deep understanding of product and operational goals, collaborating with product, operations, algorithm, and client engineering teams to deliver innovative projects.
  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, reusable, and scalable system capabilities.
  • Improve service governance, data pipelines, monitoring and alerting, incident response, and engineering productivity.
  • Identify technical bottlenecks as the business evolves and drive medium- to long-term technical planning.
  • Explore a Human + AI collaborative development model, using AI to improve requirements analysis, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery efficiency.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering capability building to continuously improve software quality.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Java or Go, with strong computer science fundamentals and software engineering skills.
  • Solid knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, message queues, caching, databases, and service governance.
  • Experience designing and building large-scale, highly concurrent, highly available online systems.
  • Strong technical judgment and business acumen, with the ability to balance business value, user experience, and technical cost.
  • Results-oriented, with strong problem-solving and cross-functional project execution skills.
  • Proficiency with AI-powered coding and development tools, with the ability to integrate AI effectively into engineering workflows while maintaining code quality, security, and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with social platforms, content communities, instant messaging, recommendation systems, or user growth.
  • Experience building feeds, comments and interactions, social graphs, messaging, or real-time communication systems.
  • Experience with global, large-scale internet products or cross-region systems.
  • Experience in complex system architecture, technical planning, or cross-functional collaboration.
