TITLE: LICENSED CLINICIAN - Child/Adolescent

LOCATION: GREAT NECK, NY

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: W2, FULL-TIME/ IN- PERSON

WHAT WE DO:

The Bio Behavioral Institute (BBI) is an outpatient Mental Health clinic; we specialize in treating OCD, BDD, and other complex disorders. At BBI, we’re more than just a clinic; we’re a movement for change. For over 45 years, we’ve pioneered the treatment of OCD, BDD, and anxiety-related disorders, earning a reputation as a thought leader in the space. Through cutting-edge research and personalized care, we’ve helped over 4,000 individuals lead richer, more fulfilling lives.

We’re not just here to reduce symptoms; we’re here to change lives. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment, where every member of our team plays a part in transforming lives—one patient at a time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Licensed Child/Adolescent Psychologist, you will provide evidence-based care to children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges. Using proven methods such as CBT, ERP, PCIT, or SPACE, you will address concerns like school refusal, anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Half of your time will involve treating patients in a collaborative intensive outpatient program with a team of 2-3 therapists. Much of this work occurs outside the office, exposing patients to real-world situations that trigger their symptoms and working through them in real time, leading to better outcomes.

At Bio Behavioral Institute we foster a safe, creative environment that encourages innovation to achieve patient outcomes. Beyond patient care, you’ll contribute to advancing the field by actively engaging in research to push evidence-based treatment forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Individual and Family Therapy: Provide therapy for children, adolescents, and families using evidence-based practices such as PCIT, SPACE, CBT, and ERP.
  • Parent Coaching and Support: Collaborate with parents to enhance therapeutic outcomes through structured parenting strategies and interventions.
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Perform diagnostic evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for young clients.
  • Participate in Program Development: Assist in designing and refining child/adolescent treatment programs, including workshops and psychoeducation initiatives for families.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other clinicians, educators, and support staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care.
  • Professional Development and Training: Stay updated on advancements in child psychology and actively participate in training opportunities.
  • Community Outreach: Engage in outreach to schools, pediatricians, and other community organizations to promote awareness of evidence-based treatments for childhood anxiety and OCD.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) with specialization or substantial coursework in child and adolescent psychology.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current license to practice psychology in the state.
  • Clinical Experience: Proven experience working with children and adolescents in clinical settings.
  • Therapeutic Expertise: Familiarity with PCIT, SPACE, CBT, ERP, and other evidence-based treatments for childhood anxiety, OCD, and related conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage with children, adolescents, families, and professionals in a compassionate and effective manner.
  • Commitment to Evidence-Based Practice: Demonstrated dedication to implementing research-driven treatment approaches.
  • Eagerness to embrace the BBI values: Care Deeply, Stay Humble and Open, Get Results, Team Up, Be Creative and Flexible

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Specialized Training: Certification or advanced training in PCIT or SPACE.
  • Experience with Family Systems: Background in addressing family dynamics and facilitating parent-child relationships.
  • High-Acuity Populations: Experience treating children and adolescents with higher-severity
  • Academic Contributions: Research, publications, or presentations related to child/adolescent psychology or evidence-based treatments.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated success in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Community Engagement: Familiarity with local resources, schools, and organizations to strengthen community partnerships.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Unmatched Expertise: You’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts like Dr. Fugen Neziroglu and Dr. Sony Khemlani, known for their extensive research on OCD, anxiety, BDD, and related disorders.
  • Pioneers in OCD Treatment: Not just treating but looking to continue to push evidence based treatment forward through research and training. Working to develop the next generation of therapists.
  • Career Growth: Heavy focus on training here and expectation to be at the cutting edge of current therapeutic approach
  • Impact: With treatment you’ll be supporting many of these patients as they are able to re-enter and participate in their lives again. This is life changing work!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
