About the Role:

This application is for a 6-month student role from January - June 2027. Resume review begins in October 2026.

The US Integrated Analytics & Insights (II&A) are thought-partners responsible for understanding therapeutic area and brand performance by leveraging structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights, inform strategy and customer understanding, and execute projects. The co-op will play a critical partnership role within the US Nephrology team.

What You’ll Do:

The co-op will be a member of our Decision Sciences team- specifically under the Insights and Analytics function. The team is a direct partner with our rare disease therapeutic area. We partner with a variety of stakeholders (Brand Marketing, Field Execution, Advanced Analytics & Omnichannel, Patient Services) to build integrated US business insights and enable a culture of data-driven decision making with high quality and impactful analysis.

As a co-op, you will be involved in:

  • Supporting the US Nephrology Insights & Analytics team in upcoming foundational market research and data analysis ahead of a new product launch
  • Supporting the end-to-end execution of insights and analytics projects, including business question definition, study design, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings to stakeholders.
  • Developing actionable insights and recommendations by integrating multiple data sources, including claims, EMR, market research, and secondary data, to inform business decisions within the nephrology portfolio.
  • Creating clear and compelling deliverables, including executive presentations, dashboards, data visualizations, and written summaries that communicate key findings and strategic implications.
  • Project management of primary market research projects for the nephrology insights team
  • Secondary data analysis of claims and EMR data

Example projects may include:

  • Manage patient or HCP market research projects end to end including defining the business need, requesting proposals from vendors, advising on research sample, monitoring field and designing read out plans
  • EMR and Claims Data Analysis
  • Patient journey and treatment pathway analyses
  • Development of integrated insight reports that combine market research and secondary data analytics to address key business questions.

Who You Are:

  • Experience in life science, marketing, technology or analytics preferred
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to analyze and interpret data preferred.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Interest in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, market research, or patient-level healthcare data is preferred.

To participate in the Biogen Internship or Co-op Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.

Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Master’s or PhD
  • Preferred majors: Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Business, Data Analytics, Data Science, Biostatistics

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $29.00-$33.00

The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
