Job description

In our Copenhagen office, we are always looking for talented and self-motivated architecture students who are eager to learn, contribute and develop their skills.

As an Intern at BIG, you will become part of a dynamic and international creative community. You will work alongside experienced architects on projects across different typologies, locations and scales, while taking part in an environment shaped by collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning.

The role As a Design Assistant, you will contribute to projects at different stages of the design process, from early conceptual design through to technical development and detailing. Working under the guidance of senior team members, you will contribute to the development and communication of architectural ideas and support the production of drawing sets and project material.

Your work may include:

  • Developing and testing design options
  • Producing diagrams, drawings, models and visualizations
  • Working with both digital and physical models
  • Supporting conceptual, design development and technical work
  • Contributing to presentations and design communication
  • Collaborating with architects, designers, engineers and other consultants
  • Developing an understanding of materials, products and construction methods
  • Contributing to the resolution of design and technical challenges through creative and innovative thinking

As you develop in the role, you will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility, contribute to design decisions and propose conceptual and technical solutions. You will also gain insight into project management and the collaboration between architects, clients, consultants, authorities and other project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has completed at least two years of architectural education
  • Is currently enrolled as a student of architecture
  • Has experience with Rhino and/or Revit and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Is flexible, curious and open to new ways of working
  • Can take initiative while responding constructively to direction and feedback
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is fluent in English
  • Is available for an internship at BIG for a minimum of six months

Please note: Graduates at Master's level or graduates of a five-year Bachelor's programme cannot be considered for internships, even if they retain student status. Your educational status will be verified, and you will be required to sign a declaration prior to starting your internship.

What we offer As part of BIG's Copenhagen office, you will:

  • Contribute to Danish and international projects
  • Work in multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Learn from experienced architects and designers
  • Develop your conceptual, technical and communication skills
  • Gain experience with digital design and modelling tools
  • Take part in a culture of critique, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Participate in social events, courses and other activities across the office

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
